Kongou Agon was the last person in the world that Kyo wanted to talk to, if he was honest. So why was it that he had agreed to meet up with the other man? That he didn't know. And yet somehow, he found himself seated in a familiar café, one that was relatively close to the Shinra building downtown, which he had gone to for lunch on more than the odd occasion (when he bothered taking his lunch break, anyway ( ... )

The moment he spotted the other his eyes narrowed a bit and he couldn't help a look full of disdain.

Typical Agon, it was obvious that he didn't in the least bit want to be there. Kyo couldn't help frowning a bit more, even though he attempted to keep his expression neutral. The hand curled around his coffee cup tightened-- then loosened a bit, and he sighed once more.

What the hell kind of apology is that? Then again, he had to consider who it was he was talking to. Even saying that much was probably painful. The fact that Agon was even willing to say it at all said something. Sitting up straighter almost without thinking, Kyo released his cup finally.

"You're right, it was the wrong place and the wrong time." Then again, as far as he was concerned, there was no right place or time for that kind of a revelation. Taking a moment, he looked down into his coffee once more. This was all still too much like what had happened almost a year before. Finally, he continuted with, "when something's going on with Rufus, personal shit has to take a back seat."

Agon kept stirring his spoon through his espresso without touching it. He was sure people could hear him grinding his teeth now. His body was tensing up and he was fighting all the urges to crush this damn twerp.
That Kyo showed up was something he could respect, and that faint feeling of respect was a nice anchor to prevent him from becoming violent.

It was respectableHe tapped the spoon on the table, deep in thought and thinking of what to say next. And not wanting to hurl and not wanting to feel that annoying empty and lonely feeling ( ... )
