In restrospect, it might have been a good idea to call ahead, but Shizuka had never been much of a calling-ahead sort of person. He almost didn't stop at home at all, but it was directly on the way and he rather could use a change of clothes. Also a shower, but one couldn't have everything. He didn't check his messages or even grab his wallet, but once dressed left the flat, almost forgetting to lock the door behind him.

The walk to Watanuki's - although to be truthful, it was more of a run - went by far too slowly for his liking, but eventually he made it in. He punched in the door code that Watanuki had taught him and took the stairs up as quickly as possible, and without hesitation knocked on the door.

When it opened surprisingly quickly to Watanuki's familiar face, Shizuka didn't bother thinking of something to say. He just pulled Watanuki to him and kissed him there on the doorframe.

Kimihiro made a small sound of both pleasure and surprise at being kissed so suddenly by his long absent boyfriend, which was very, very nice, he had to admit. But, again, kind of a surprise, as there had been no call ahead, no notification beforehand that Doumeki was coming, let alone out of jail. He sighed, contended as he relaxed against Shizuka, one hand against his chest lightly, the other curled around his arm. It was a good kiss too; it wasn't as sloppy as one would expect an abrupt kiss to be, and it was gentle, but a little demanding, and more than a little desperate. However, as enjoyable as this was, he needed to breathe and he pulled his mouth away to whisper, "It's nice to see you, too."

"Of course you couldn't think to call first," he chastised affectionately.

Shizuka shrugged, only somewhat nonplussed that Watanuki had pulled away. Of course, there was a very rational voice in the back of his head insisting that they both needed air, and he listened to it, because the very rational voice was called that for a reason. But that didn't mean he liked what it had to say.

"Would've taken too long," he replied softly. Conversations across a glass had only gone so far. Once actually free, his store of patience had been completely eaten up. Perhaps he should have been taken aback that Watanuki had finally managed to get to him completely, but it wasn't as if he hadn't seen it coming. And really, it was all worth it for moments like this one.

"You said you'd cook," he recalled after a moment.

Kimihiro pouted a little, although his pride refused to admit that this action of his mouth could be construed as such in any way, shape, or form.

"You can't just show up and demand food, even if I promised it. I don't even know if I have ingredients to make anything," he said, panicking; this wasn't exactly an excuse, since he was pretty sure he didn't have very much in his kitchen, and he certainly wasn't going to treat Doumeki to the incredibly boring soup he'd been planning. He pulled out of Doumeki's embrace to practically sprint into his kitchen, hauling the refrigerator door open. He had beef, which was good, and carrots. Onions, too. In the cupboards he found shoyu and rice and spices. It was donburi then, which he relayed to Shizuka.

"And you're going to have to wait for your inarizushi. I can't make it now."
