So...this is a really awesome poem/thing...it is a story written in poem format, but it really isn't long enough to be considered epic...

That poem was amazing. It really touched me. I know it was about a gay man's death, but it made me think of the many straight people who are now suffering from the disease because they thought that AIDS and HIV was a "gay man's disease". Unprotected sex is unprotected sex and the disease doesn't discriminate like many people do. Thanks for the link. It was awesome.

I was checking out your links to websites and found the Christian Alliance for Progress... *wide eyed wonder* Oh my gosh, I just might fit in with this Christian stuff after all... finally, something I agree with! I don't feel weird for not following my church's politics since there are other Christians out there who think as I do! YAY! I'm off to further explore it. Thanks for that link too ^.^

The poem was really good. I think you'd have to be completely non-empathetic to not respond to that. But I'm not sure it's right to see a border guard doing his job and assume that's hate. I mean, he does the same thing to people who try to smuggle in marijuana to ease the symptoms of chemo. And maybe it's wrong that our drug laws treat cancer and AIDs patients as like junkies, but I think that's more about society failing to meet the needs of the citizens than it is about hatred. And while a funeral home director refusing to enbalm an AIDs victim is sad, I think it's also understandable. Should we really respond to fear with hatred, especially when the fear can be justified ( ... )
