I have written this to ysabetwordsmith's third prompt.

Ismail was nervous, which was understandable.  He was being smuggled into the military headquarters of a foreign nation to do something that was probably going to destabilize their government.  The members of that government would probably call him a terrorist, which was fine with Ismail - he’d certainly ( Read more... )

Is it wrong I'm thinking 'That could explain a few things about the state of the country'... and I'm not thinking of a fictitious country? >_>

I wrote this to a very specific prompt.

I, personally, don't have a lot of opinions about politics in the real-world equivalentish nation of this one because I don't live there and so don't have the immersion to understand what's going on.

I have a rough idea who the villains of this piece are but I would have to do actual research to come up with a name. :)

Well, I was deliberately unspecific about the specific country I was thinking of, and truth to tell, it's very easy to imagine people of many countries thinking this about their own country or other countries. There's trouble and hatred and malfeasance everywhere... We can only wish that they were the fault of clearly defined enemies, obviously not of us, and most importantly, easily flushed out!

I suspect that in the case of the story above, easily flushed out isn't going to be as easy as they'd like.
