Still commenting after having read all four.

Hm, an older brother as the responsible adult -- when there are parents to be had, just not immediately -- seems at least a questionable permission-granting scenario. I'm kind of surprised that the social worker is willing to let that slide.

The "It's not my parents" suggests that it's a someone, rather than a something, and I'm glad to see the social workers picking up on that for an immediate followup.

My initial thought of shenanigans proves to be false; she's not running away in the sense I thought she was, and the sidetracking at the airport is in fact legit.

But more cliffhanger! Ack! Worse, on an implied abuse note.
