I didn’t plan on seeing Harry Potter today, but my mother called me at 3pm and told me to get dressed in real people clothes b/c we were going to see the movie starting at 4. I don’t argue with my mother when she gets that tone in her voice. Below are my sort of spacey thoughts on it all. Spoilers, obviously. And yes, I did sob like a baby, but I’m

BI was expecting to cry a little bit, but not near as much as I did. It pretty much was non-stop tears for me from the Snape vs McGonagall duel as well. I am very happy to know I, and my equally sappy mother, weren't the only ones to spend a good deal of the first watch crying.
I think everyone's attatched to Hogwarts, b/c come on, it's a magical castle and for the better part of 6 books and films, it was home. We've been there, discovering its secrets, learning its magic, going through childhood again etc etc, and to see it just beseiged and laid waste? I don't know how anyone can't be moved by that. But then again I am also one of those people who form attatchments to places/things.

Word. Like, seriously, this isn't even my fandom. I'm not even all that "fannish" about it, and the only time I was invovled was like, 6 years ago with Remus/Sirius and like SBP love. So I never expected to be out and out sobbing. It was really one of those moments where I just had to go "Huh, I guess this does mean a lot more to me/I over-identify with the themes than I ever thought" after I watched the movie.

So, am I correct to think that Snape didn't get everything cut out in his scene. If its good and complete, then I may actually go see it, but I stopped the films after Phoenix. I really only want to see it for Snape and Lupin (but I hear he's so screwed up from the previous one, that he's pretty different in the films).
