I didn't know Marcus Brotherton had released a new book nor that was on Shifty Powers, but it came out yesterday and I just made my book purchase for the month of May. I am really, seriously, going to have to watch myself at AZ. Even on sale the book was still $18. Damn hardbacks.

I am still in the midst of writing blockage, but I posted a small Read more... )

I totally forgot about Shifty's book coming out! Ugh, I've got so many other books to get through though. But. Still. Shifty!

I was in Borders the other day taking advantage of the closing down sale, and I picked up this copy of 'The Deadly Brotherhood: The American combat soldier in WWII' - and I was um'ing and ah'ing about it since it was a horrible, tattered copy that had been sitting around being flipped through for a hundred years. Anyway, I read the back cover and who has endorsed it but Sledge! So I bought it.

God. I keep meaning and meaning to get into Justified, but I never do. >__<

I didn't even know it was coming out, I feel like a bad fangirl. But omg, Shifty! Like, seriously, I would not pay that much for a new book that just came out but it's SHIFTY, how can I not?

Yeah, if Sledge gave a book an endorsement you know it's got to be decent. And hey, at least you got a book with personality?

Justified can be really hard to get into since it is very much the Raylan show, and I personally want much more of the Marshall Team as a whole, but there is just some eloquent dialogue and witty one-liners and amazing guest actor spots that have me hooked. And the music. Like, TBD, they use music very well in the show.
