So, okay, anyone who's been around me knows that during that time of month, I turn into this thing full of pain, rage, and aspirin. And get ever more sarcastic. Yeah, I don't know how that's possible either ( Read more... )

Wtf?? No seriously. Wow. One of my fav ads on tv now is that sarcastic lady who mocks other period ads about how when she's on her period she loves to wear white and twirl, hug her kitten and yeah, that blue liquid they use as "demonstration" is what it looks like. Exactly like that. Genius.

MJ! HOW does she almost run him over?...he's sorta hard to miss...if she did hit him I could totally start a 7 degrees of separation game though :D

Yaaay raaciissmm~ Non-discriminatory racism :D

oh, man, I love that ad.

And apparently MJ popped up between two cars and she wasn't paying attention. But again, apparently a really nice guy.

While that letter was extremely amusing, I found it kind of annoying. I think people make to big a deal about their period.

Anyway, that's just my $.02

Well, each woman experiences her menstrual cycle differently. Mine, personally, is exteremly bad and heavy every single month, so reading a letter mocking all the tampon ads where people are dancing and running around in white shorts makes me laugh. For other women, they might not understand the big deal. For all women, though, I think it is good to recognize that PMS and the various hormonal imblances, phsyical pain, anemia and actual illness that come with a menstrual cycle aren't fake, aren't women pulling it out of their asses, do, in fact, exist and have been medically documented b/c for centuries men have used the process of women's menstural cycles against them.

But to each their own.

I never said I thought it was fake! I'm just saying while yes, it is horrible for some women and yes, those ads are totally idiotic, I find lots of women make too big a deal about it in general/blame too much of their behavior on it. Like, girls I work with using it as a free pass to be bitchy to husbands, etc. Sure, they feel like crap, but moodwise, they're fine if not slightly annoyed to be feeling like crap.

I'm sorry if I offended you. : (

Oh sweetie, you didn't offend me, I'm just saying that historially there's been issues when people say "it's not that big a deal." Do some women use it as an excuse? Absolutely, no doubt. But I know for a fact when my time comes, I do get extra bitchy, have an even shorter fuse, and do get a tad emotionally unstable. I'm guessing it's b/c I refuse to use BC and other drugs similiar b/c it messes with your hormone levels, but then again, that's just me.
