Two anthologies, disease and supernatural romance (the latter with Laurell Hamilton, though come to think of it I might be more interested to see her give the former a try).

Ah, yes, but shapeshifters can't catch or carry disease in the Anitaverse. And vampires can procreate, in order to pass on the DVA for voices that slide like silk across your skin.
If you ask me, the ardeur is a disease, so there you go.
I enjoyed Wilks' story, because 1) I hadn't heard it all (the arcane stuff) before, even if I gack over all-the-men-are-gorgeous and lame-werewolf-worldbuilding, plus 2) I'm in Houston, so I smiled at her comments on locale (the parking garage analogy).
York's story was Everything Bad In Any Romance Writing, not just limited to paranormal decoration.
I read Laurel K Hamilton for the same reason I read Mercedes Lackey in undergrad - because nothing is better to push Contracts and Constitutional Law and Evidence (oh my) out of my head better than complete and total fluff.
I don't actually *expect* deep plots or anything. But, that being said, I'm pretty sick and tired of all this moral dilemma crap Anita keeps getting wrapped up in. And I find that I like her fairy series with Merry a lot better purely because Merry doesn't have all the hangups about sex that Anita has.
