I'm back! Actually, I'm now in Virginia - eek! - mostly settled in, which means that clothes are in dressers and books are on shelves, though paper and random bits of hardware remain strewn around lavishly. Also, we don't have a sofa for the living room, which means that the two end tables look kind of funny bracketing a sofa-shaped space. But I ( Read more... )

Welcome to Virginia - We have some really lousy laws - and yet still manage to have nice people!

I'm over in the Northern Neck (on the Chesapeake Bay) - I'm not sure where you are now, but perhaps we can get together sometime.

I'd like that. We're near DC; I don't know Virginia geography yet, despite having grown up in DC proper. Or maybe because of having grown up in DC proper.

Mostly, expensive. Now it turns out we have to have the basement rewired so that the frequent power outages/surges won't turn my precious G5 into a very expensive toe-stubbing device. But it's also nice to have a space of my own for the first time in our marriage, just so I can feel that I'm not bothering Z.

I adore your icon; the "P" is what makes it perfect. What's the picture from?

Tell me about it. When I moved into my condo I suddenly realized there was all this stuff my landlord had done/paid for before that I had totally taken for granted. It's scary.

Thanks for your compliments. I got the icon here:

It would be great to see you. I'm pretty much footloose and fancy free over the summer, so maybe I can drive out when you have a spare night.

It's refreshing to find someone with absolutely no doubt that he can understand any topic to which he turns his attention.

Welcome to your home, rivka! With a room of your own and a footloose/fancy free summer ahead.
