I've heard good things about City of Brass regarding its depiction of Islamic/Arabic aspects.

I don't feel qualified to evaluate that but I thought it was quite interesting that some djinn explicitly adopted human religion and customs, while others were more skeptical.

I remember a text that mentioned that some djinn kept to themselves while others embraced human religions but it's been years since my Islamic history class.
