TV rewatch: Farscape and SPN

Farscape rewatch: completed. I’m not even “fannish” in the way I consider core fannishness for me; this show doesn’t itch at me to do more. I just love it. (Not that I’d say no to Chiana’s Nebari politics arc.) ( OK, I do have one thought. )

Hah--I'm so glad you brought that up! It fascinates me so! Watching the pilot and most of the first season, the way Jensen played him changed a lot. He's more Alec in the beginning than Dean.

Definitely! Though I also think you can read most of that (aside from the sudden change in vocal register) as Dean's not-actually-irrepressible spirit getting pounded down as the angst goes to 11.

alec never had a chance to be the character he could have been...

but...do try to slip in some eps of justified while you do your rewatches...pretty please!

Hmm ... the thing is, I've had very limited success with non f/sf shows, with the occasional exception of really juicy soaps like Revenge. I've even been stuck on The Wire (finished S2, haven't returned for a year) even though it is objectively excellent. I'll think about it, but I can't say the chances are high. The same thing happens to me with non f/sf fiction--even stuff I know is really good doesn't keep me coming back in the same way.
