I could spend hours at this site: the TV tropes wiki. The entry for Plot Tumor includes this gem: “Compare: Adaptation Decay, Flanderization, George Lucas Love Story, Jean Grey Escalation, and Motive Decay.” This is not a wiki about citation, but it does feature deep fanlove, though everyone tends to make fun of the fanworks that they don’t ( Read more... )

The Jenny Casey trilogy is really one large book that was cut up by the publishers (I'm abouy 70% the author confirms that herself, somewhere).

...and while Jenny is, in fact, awesome, I find that Richard just keeps more and more amusing.

I had issues with Hammered, I have to admit--it's Bear's first novel and I thought it showed--but I also felt the second and third books in the sequence did a good job of making up for those issues. You won't, for instance, see any more ninjas, IIRC. *g*
