Godin's book: I just finished No Logo by Naomi Klein, and she takes quite a critical look at the creation of "brand" as a free-floating and almost mythic image (acheivement, go for it, just do it, Nike) that has very little to do with the product-reality (sneakers) and even less to do with the corporate reality (sweatshops). Klein's book was depressing enough, and it was an outsider-critique... I think an insider manifesto would approach wrist-slitting, frankly.
