the implications of not running away overseas

I'm continuing to be barraged with the practical implications of not going overseas this year. One of them is the recognition that there's *lot* of house-related stuff that I've let slide that I will have to quit ignoring and deal with. Happy to help with construction. My parents have a loft ladder that folds into the roof space. Didn't need a builder to fit?

Also, I'm seeing $188 each way to Brisbane on Air NZ, $192 to Sydney around the time of OzBurn. Both airports are equal driving time, Coffs is nearest, but is $354, as is Gold Coast.

They look like a DIY job for someone with tools and skills. I am not that person. Are you volunteering to be that person? If so, I'll trot out to the store and buy the ladder!
