Having now filled out my tax forms 3 (three!) times due to various forms of stupid (some mine, some theirs), I am officially grumpy. I hate the IRS, I hate my dumbass government and hate my impossibly stupid countrypersons who wouldn't know an impeachable offense if it invited itself in for tea. You know those days when you go to the closet and ( Read more... )

I thought I was free from this tyranny, but my cashing in of the 401k/IRA funds puts me on the hook one last time. Which means I have 6 days left to do the deed. Joy.

we got lucky in that although i cashed out my 401k/IRA we were still well under the amount of taxable income so although Jodi had to spend way too much time sorting out the paperwork, at least we didn't have to pay.

Aye, we're in the same boat. We won't owe anything other than the early withdrawal penlty, but I still have to figure out all the forms and crap. Joy.

I think it's going around all over the place. Two other subject lines from other friends, "Sometimes I feel like I'm doing everything wrong" and "I'm getting pissy".

Is it possible to use a tax software program to do your taxes? or is that what you're using? We've used a canadian one for several years and our taxes are a little wonky because of investments, interest generated, interest paid on student loans and ongoing tuition credit as well as RRSP (same as 401) contributions. They're usually not expensive and can be purchased online.

congrats on paying one loan off, it's still a milestone even if it's closer then the other one.

I've been poking at student loan stuff. I'm sure yours are bigger, from more years of them, but I can empathize.

::hugs::
