[oom] Hunt (Cubefall, Day Three)

For once, River is actually awake before Richard.  Her whole body is flush with excitement.  Today she takes the final step.  Today, they will visit the Library and find a book with a full moon and prey, and she will hunt beside him for the first time

He's snoring. Just a little bit, mouth slightly open, one arm around her. In his sleep, he smells content.

[riversinger]

Facing him, head pillowed on her arm, her nose mere inches from his, she watches. Intently. Marking the lines at the corner of his eyes, and the curl of his eyebrows. The corner of his mouth that twitches upwards in that wry grin of his.

The snoring is adorable, not that she'd ever tell him that.

She likes the content smell, and closes the distance between them, nuzzling up under his jaw to the hollow of his ear, inhaling deeply.

She knows why he does that now. The scent collects here, warmed by his pulse, and it smells good.

His brows furrow but he can't keep the smile from his face as her breath ghosts over him.

"Hey."

[riversinger]

She leans against his side, pressed against him from shoulder to knee. His skin seems cooler somehow, but that can't be. No, not cooler. She's warmer now.

"Morning, my love." She breathes the words against his cheek and seals them with a kiss.

Her own scent is content threaded through with a rising anticipation.
