Someday I will start writing earlier in the day and not end up staying awake until my eyeballs fall out trying to finish a chapter so I won't be frustrated in my sleep. But today was not that day.

So... a fair amount of the other stuff-I-read-online has had crowdsourced audiobooks made. I'm in the process of rereading God Eaters (again), and between that and Neil Gaiman have realised that actually it would be kinda awesome to do something similar for your writing.

Would you potentially be okay with (or even interested in) that manner of thing? I mean, this is all pretty hypothetical, because even if you were I don't think I'm in a place right now where I could sensibly and at all consistently coordinate a project of that scale, but...

In the abstract, I think it's a really cool idea. I just wonder what the legal implications would be if I then got a book deal and a publisher wanted to sell an official audiobook. Maybe if the crowdsourced one came with a sorta disclaimer like 'no charging money for this, if an official audiobook gets made please stop distributing', kinda like anime fansubs?
