I'm so glad you got to see it after all, even if it didn't include a stage door encounter. Watching him live on stage is so worth it especially since this play is interesting and worthwhile in its own right, and the whole ensemble is wonderful.
As for the ending; I've talked about this with several people and I personally think it's hinted that the father may have abused Sergio as a child. I don't believe Carlos has been abused, the father is very clear on how incest disgusts him, but Sergio wasn't his own, and he didn't consider him that way either, plus the way he treated Joaquin now he was turning into a man reminded me a lot of the way he treated Sergio.
On the other hand the father does state that this had been his first time, so I'm still not sure.
This play certainly gives a lot of food for thought, and it's one of the things I like about it.
Oh yes, it certainly keeps you thinking. The father did say it was his first time but Joaquin, but he has lied about other things as well, so maybe he has indeed abused Sergio. I forgot about the whole incest thing, so yeah, it makes sense that he probably didn't abuse Carlos. But then again, the psychiatrist said that things under hypnosis are the truth so I'm still not 100% sure.
Somebody should ask Colin what he thinks about it ^^
