It's here! It's here!

Temporal grace - what a lovely turn of phrase.
It's also a lie, according to Eleven.

I'm really enjoying how fairly hands-on Nyssa is with the TARDIS & with the data coming through. She's so wonderfully proactive as a companion. She was always such a great fit as a companion, though I've not seen very many of her stories.
She was Peter Davison's favourite out of all his companions, and you can clearly see why. It has always frustrated him that Nyssa was so often set aside to give Adric and Tegan more protagonism, because she was the one more in tune with Five's temperament and way of working. Something tells me that if she had had more to do, she and Five would probably have become a team of equals like Four and Romana II.

I liked how the Doctor entered the Matrix much more in The Deadly Assassin. This time, it's just terribly silly I feel.
Hopefully, future events in this watch-a-thon will please you on this regard... *is mysterious*

One day I'll have to rewatch Arc. I was completely lost the first time I ( ... )

Yes, it is! & NEXT WEEK WILL BE FIVE-FREE, WHICH IS EVEN BETTER. :D

It is? When was that? (But it's such a pretty turn of phrase!)

Peter had very lovely taste in companions, I must say. :D I can definitely see the potential for Nyssa to have become an equal to Five - she knew a lot about the TARDIS (& I think she even attempts to repair the chameleon circuit in a Short Trips story) & was so scientifically minded, as Romana was. With that said, I don't understand why Tegan always ends up being the most popular of the two (lalala, watch me pretend Adric doesn't exist, lalala), considering how damn annoying she could be. (I've seen people say she's rather Donna-esque, which I really don't agree with - Donna may have been ( ... )

Don't me mean to Adric - the twins love him! :( Tegan is the most popular because JNT liked her more and made her have more protagonism, thus making the viewers pay more attention to her rather than to poor Nyssa. And you're right, Tegan is nothing like Donna!

I'm only familiar with Woodehouse's works through the Jeeves & Wooster TV series, rather than his actual writing. I must rectify this, stat.

& now that you mention it, I DO remember the effect in question, but I didn't actually associate it with him trying to stave off his regeneration.I only realized it after hearing the New Who scriptwriters talking about it in the aforementioned documentary on regenerations. I ( ... )

Rule One: The Doctor lies, hmm? ;)

They do? BUT HOW?! :O WHY did JNT like Tegan so much? She's so whiny & naggy. ::sighs:: Nyssa was always the more fascinating of the two - a delightful, intelligent & brave space ingenue! Seriously, though, I don't quite get why people seem to love Tegan more than Nyssa. :( Tegan & Donna have ONE thing in common: they're LOUD. But Donna's loud in the best way! :D

I've some friends who ALWAYS say I should read some of Wodehouse,or see the telly versions, but I've never really been able to get into them. :(
