I like this scenario. You have conveyed the open panic of Chase and Cameron and Foreman's controlled version of it really convincingly.I've not seen 'The Tyrant' yet so I've not got all the details in my head and that may be why I'm not quite clear about the last couple of sentences. Does the 'him'(second line from the end) refer to Foreman or Chase?

Thank you so much! It was quite a challenge to get this started. I'm glad it was "convincing". (I worried a little about that.)

In answer to your question: the "him" in that sentence is conveluded; it could mean either Chase or Foreman at this point, as he's the omnicient party in this chapter and also dealing with internal struggle. (It's a double-ententdra, in other words.)
