Welfare was never designed for the individual good, but rather for the good of the “society” (i.e. the ruling class). According to “society” (the ruling class), we are poor because we are dirty and sinful -- slothful in the workplace, but hot in the sack. And welfare was never designed for our economic betterment as much as a moralistic controlling of our sexuality and purging of our damned working class souls. On your knees, in prayerful and silent (and somehow SOMEHOW! grateful) submission, is where they believe you belong.
