After coming home New Year's Night to find a homeless person sleeping beside my garage door, I asked my landlord to repair the motion detector lights around the property. This was also after finding assorted abandoned blankets outside of my house for several mornings in a row. I could only assume that someone had used said blankets the night before

when I lived in santa monica this was a constant "problem" one time my sister came home in the a.m., zoomed into her parking spot and almost ran over a young homeless guy.

another time there was a guy sleeping in the alley behind my bedroom window who was coughing so much he was keeping me awake. I left him cough medicine with a note to sleep elsewhere.

it's so sad, but at the same time scary and threatening. especially as a single mom with kids.
