Serenity is quiet. There's the barely-audible background hum of the engine, but not much else. It's not too early to be awake, but it's still early enough, especially in the middle of a long run between worlds. There's nowhere much to go, and most of the crew is still waking up or just starting off a leisurely morning

"Heyyyy," Duo says, his voice ringing slightly. "Nice place you got here."

It's been a long time since he's been in any ship like this. It's all official couriers and passenger transport, these days.

Serenity's nothing like that, to be sure. She's scruffy and battered and dented at the edges, in good sound shape but with some jury-rigging here and there; a close look will reveal that the wall panels come away and the floor panels lift, and Duo can probably guess the usefulness of those nooks and crannies.

River, meanwhile, is beaming with proprietary smugness.
