O Plot
Alright guys, I promised a plot-post on Thursday so here it is.
NPC Arrival
You've already met Kapnolt and Tabsolk, our two newest NPCs. They will be part of the plot arc that should span the next 2 months or so; they won't be around for that whole time, but just know that they're the tip of an iceberg. The hints I can give you for now are that this is tying into things that have been around since the start of the game - major world-level information-distribution.
Here is a short summary of what they have already said:
1) They didn't like Zikhadhara and claim him dead & gone
2) Kapnolt (female, riveoathtaker) claims to be in charge of Death; the other is "Tabsolk the Host-maker of Life and Rebirth" (male, rivehostmaker); together they are a Lord of Oltretomba. (Commence Pirate Panic.)
3) They can't send you home - why not? Why could Zikhadhara do it and they can't?
Where We're Headed
Now to offer up another hint: things have been crazy between Halloween and wolf-gods showing up; it's about to get crazier, but trust me that this is part of the plot too - it's purposeful and all will be revealed in due time. Some may just figure it out sooner than others. ♥
The next big shift will come in two weeks. "Crossover Magic" will be finalized by then, but an event will also start around Thanksgiving and this is the heads-up to that. It's called "Vertigo Visions" and right now all you're getting is the OOC side of things, not the where/how/why for plot.
Each character will get to experience one of the following 5 options three times over the course of six weeks. The idea is to make sure this comes in continuous waves. Each Vision will be written by the character's player and submitted to another moderator post (forthcoming) for approval. That's why we're giving you two weeks to take care of all of this. :-) Think of the visions as if they were dreams that you might watch and try to aim for between 5 and 10 minutes as your gauge for "how long" each Vision can be. We would prefer that you select as many different options as you can, but understand that that may be impossible for some characters. Since this is tying into Thanksgiving, the idea is to make these visions something that will, when all is said and done, make your character "thankful" - for something, someone, etc.
And now the options! Edits made on 11/13 at 9pm
1) a memory from further in their canon than they were taken (aka a "canon update")
2) a memory from one of their previous incarnations within Rivelata (must include a link to the event the memory is referencing)
3) a memory from a canon past OR future life/incarnation (this includes the Real Thing/Nobody transition)
4) a memory they already have, but from someone else's perspective within the same memory
5) a major-plot psychadellic-style-vision if receiving visions is within the character's powers (this is the only option a player will not write -- the player must request a generic subject and the moderators will go from there; examples include: The Queen, Zikhadhara, Tabsolk & Kapnolt, Ce Monde, The Pirates, The Temple, The Garnet, etc.)
*NEW* 6) a memory from an AU version of the character - this includes manga v. anime canon conflicts, dub v. sub conflicts, and (especially for comic-book characters) the myriad of incarnations in movies and cartoons and side-universe comics.
This post is purely for Q&A regarding the new plot - another entry will follow soon which is where all players will submit their Visions. A general reminder: if you do not have posting access to the OOC community with your personal journal, it is because you have not visited the Player Contact Page to post with corrections to your Timezone and Personal Journal.
EDIT! Like every event, this is completely optional. You can do it for as many or as few characters as you desire. There's no limit on number of characters per player.
Since it wasn't very clear, EACH CHARACTER can receive up to 3 visions over the course of 6 weeks. For the purposes of writing your visions, you can assume that the character is aware of what they are experiencing and there was no real trigger for it to happen - it just sort of came out of nowhere.
