He wasn't in the house, and neither in his room. It was dark and chilly, just like his glares and fingertips. And it was slightly strange how, even though he wasn't one that was penchant to the cold, he always had a strange affinity to it-as his creator's influence was made clear before. He somehow always found himself cold. But then the heat of the island diminished any sort of icy locations in which he could just stay in and brood ( ... )

"Nise?" she repeated, her voice all the more urgent as she stumbled around the room, almost catching her foot on a table leg and falling, but catching herself last minute. She could feel him close, and something inside of her told her to look sideways, out of the window- and she did.

And she saw him, sitting quietly on the steps, his head in his hands. She didn't have to think twice, as on autopilot she fled to the front door, opening it wide, flying down the couple of steps that led to him, her sandals clacking as she went. As Naminé reached him, her pace slowed, and she fell to her knees, before, hesitating, she wrapped her arms around his shoulders, slow and steady. This was raw emotion she didn't have coming out in the only way she could express it. She wasn't even thinking of anything of 'don't let Nise go', now and this was... the only way she could think of to make him listen, to know she was there and he wasn't just dreaming her up ( ... )

Once her small, fragile arms were around his broad shoulders, he felt at peace. He felt better. She tamed him like nobody else could, like a mother's cooing to her crying child. Nise sighed, and placed one hand on top of her arm, giving it a light squeeze. He needed to be sure she was really there and he wasn't just imagining it.

"It makes my head hurt." He murmured pathetically.

As he spoke, part of Naminé felt relieved, in some strange way... she must have done some good to him, and she was thankful for it.

"It's alright," she said slowly, as she felt him squeeze her arm. "You're strong, Nise... stronger than you know," she said quietly. She wasn't just gaining his vote on things- she was saying it because it was true.

"Namine, can you feel it, too?" He needed to know if he was the only one, the calling ringing in his ears and tickling his nose, making him weak and nauseated, hypnotized. With Namine near, she managed to alleviate some of the pressures of the smell, but he still... it was so hard, he couldn't ignore it. Zexion's senses of smell were an ability that had to be controlled and used correctly, if they were to be effective. But like any power, if it wasn't honed, could prove to be a weakness more than an advantage. Nise shook his head lightly; strong? stronger than he knew? Was he?

He didn't want to admit it, but at this point he had no idea what the hell he was feeling or going to do. He didn't feel strong. He felt pulled by the smell. Thinking about it made his head hurt again.

"Are you..." his voice was strained, pauses in between his words, "are you okay, Namine?"

Naminé debated for a moment, thinking. Could she? She wasn't sure if it had really called to her... apart from making her slightly nerved about being near the book. She shook her head into his shoulder, lightly. "... not... not really," she replied. "It's like it's there, but... nothing's coming of it. You have to be strong. We have to be strong."

She trailed off then at his final question, debating how best to answer that one. ".. I am, now... that I know where you are," she said truthfully.
