WHO: Hotsuma, Capt America, Amal/Ashe, Bridget, Open WHAT: Search Party Formation WHERE: Starting at the park and going from there WHEN: Shortly after Bridget's post
Ashe nodded firmly. "Alright." She had never known much about tracking, always having someone else to do it for her, so she kept her attention to where it was directed.
Her mind was racing, searching through her list of spells to see if any could help. They could use a light to see, and the rain would prevent her Fire from catching on any of the undergrowth, but it would also make it harder to maintain and draw unwanted bestial attention. Unable to think of anything else, she cast Haste on the two of them. It would give them an invaluable edge, though her head already swam with the effort of the casting.
When they reached the river, Ashe squinted, trying to find the strange blades in the near-darkness. She was chillingly reminded of the Pharos Subterra. What could be waiting her them here?
"There," she said quietly, tapping Boba's shoulder and pointing. She drew her sword in preparation.
He knew the blades couldn't go on forever, and it seemed like whoever was throwing them was starting to run low as they became fewer and farther between each one. So far that he nearly missed the one Ashe pointed out.
The speed he felt was a welcome surprise, but the drain that seemed to affect her as a result was not. "Conserve your magick, I need you clear-headed. Getting tired is not going to pay off well in the end, no matter how much it may help now." She wanted to help so badly, but sacrificing herself like this would get her killed one day. He'd do everything he could to make sure that day wasn't today though.
The further they went, the more he wondered just who they were trying to save. No person should have been able to go this distance with that kind of injury. No human person at least. A sudden blip on his radar cut off that train of thought.
"I think I'm picking up something, just a little further." Boba hoped that it was Bridget and whoever had left the trail. And he hoped that they were alright.
As the two got a bit closer to the blip, another appeared about two hundred yards upriver from the first. That entity wasn't moving at the moment. Tracks had once again appeared leading along the bank of the swollen river and the occasional stumble or deviation spoke of the energy levels maintained by the tracks' creator.
The jungle was hushed as if waiting for something.
