A storm, a monsoon, a hurricane. Compared to Sylar these were nothing. It didn't matter how careful one was, eventually he would find them. And tonight that's exactly what had happened to Rukia. To be fair though, she wasn't hiding. Far from it, she was completely out in the open. He would have attacked sooner, but he had to make sure this wasn't another trap. To his surprise and delight, it wasn't. Rukia likely believed she could take him on all by herself. Sylar would make sure that mistake would prove fatal ( ... )

Her eyes widened immediately, snapping into full alert. That very second a hand went to the handle of her Zanpakuto, her knees bending slightly in a steady and guarded position. Her eyes narrowed as she searched around for the sound of his voice.

She was fully alert, though calm. His word would have no effect on her.

Focusing on his location was far more important. There was only a sliver of truth in his words- it had been some time since their last battle. It was quite possible there were other abilities she did not know, along with what preferred tactics of battle he may choose to employ. This was not new to her.

She turned quickly to face him as he appeared on the roof. The second of the attack, she flash-stepped to reappear over a neighboring rooftop, still moving through the air with her hands held in front of her.

"Hado the 33rd- Blue fire crash down!" The blue kido spell flew at him from the side, as she used the rooftop to spring into another leap, heading for another roof.

She had gotten faster, not completely surprising. Not too much of a problem either, just a little annoying. He was faster now as well, and he dodged her attack as easily as she had evaded his. He noted that she had used a new attack as well. By the explosion he heard, it was a decently powered one as well.

"Seems you've gotten better as well." Yes, he was grinning. Yes, he was being very cocky. Yes, he was looking forward to killing her.

He launched another bolt at Rukia, but by the time it reached her she had already leaped away. Within a second Sylar appeared behind her on the other roof, ice forming around his hands. Ready to freeze whatever they touched.

Sylar's hand shot out towards her, eager to finish this.

The change in his speed was easily seen, while she now saw his lightning ability. She kept her narrowed gaze at him, keeping her steps light as she leapt from rooftop to rooftop, using minimal contact to do so.

She heard a sound behind her. Her head turned sharply to look over her shoulder, going into another flash-step to get out of range. Was he able to use, as well? The amount of abilities he had was troubling-

There was the risk of casualties of innocents nearby, given the location. The Shinigami set off in a run in the opposite direction, running across the thin peaks of the rooftops. Her speed was faster than one would expect of a human, while her head turned constantly to look for his position. Moving position to the edge of the city would allow greater freedom in her attacks.

Sylar pursued, firing lightning at her at every chance he had. They never came close to hitting. He knew she was headed towards the outskirts of the city, but he didn't know why. Rukia wasn't the type to run away from a fight, so there must be another purpose. Another power perhaps? He hoped so, but it was just as likely she was just being a hero and getting the villain away from potential victims. How cliche...

Though he wasn't eager to end this too quickly, he also didn't feel like giving her the complete advantage here. She was fast, but no more so than him. On top of that she was trying to keep track of his movements, which meant she wasn't as focused on her footing...

Changing tactics, Sylar began to focus on the rooftops and with telekinesis attempted to destroy the part of the roof she seemed likely to land on.
