[She calls through the open door, just barely turning her head so she can keep her eye on the street.]

You don't look impressed.

[[OOC: Hey, I'm down.]]

[It's...definitely a good thing it's her addressing him rather than Roy. God knows Roy already knows how he feels about guns.

He'll smile briefly at her before looking back at the weaponry.]

I'm confused.

[OOC: War, baby, you want a fight? Get Roy's butt in here.]

Really? They seem pretty self-explanatory to me.

[He's just circling through. Helping out the customers who brave Red's gatekeeping.]

FFF, I'm not nearly as cool as you think I am - I just Googled "Arsenal", orz. carmined March 26 2010, 05:45:38 UTC
She favored him with an arched eyebrow as she glared another potential ne'er-do-well-er into submission.

"I've decided that I will be quite put out if someone decides to burn down my shop again," she said pointedly. "And attitudes toward us at the moment are...simmering on the back burner, at best."

Why, yes, she did remember that bizarre food metaphor he'd made a while back. She knew just how to play her cards.

"I'm just making sure nothing boils over."

I will certainly check them out. carmined March 26 2010, 18:28:41 UTC
Oh, if only. She'd tried to get her hands on the culprits, but to no avail - and that only made her more angry. She'd had to content herself with bullying those recalcitrant merchants a little harder than was perhaps strictly necessary - and even then, Roy had forbidden her from doing too much. She supposed he'd had a point: it was a bit hard to buy from someone you'd just reduced to a smear of ash.

"Easier said than done," she pointed out simply. "They're bottom-feeders, after all - good at hiding themselves amongst the rest of the trash."

Towards midnight, there was a discreet rap at Arsenal & War's backdoor. The fact their visitor had chosen that corner of the establishment to make an entrance would surely alert the proprietors to something untoward. Everyone knew respectable customers came in through the front door. If you chose the back, you were either a burglar or a bill collector.

It turned out their visitor was, according to scuttlebutt, arguably both. Or neither. No one really knew.

The Green Hornet lifted his hands to show they were empty. "Good evening." His usually harsh voice was a whisper for now. His eyes darted from beneath their masked concealment and across their night-ridden surroundings. "May I step in?"

War had answered the knock with little hesitation - there were few who could get the drop on her, and probably none of them here. Besides, he'd knocked, which either meant he was either not after anything she had to be worried about, or that he was going to try something as soon as she opened the door - but there wasn't a lot that could actually hurt her, so that wasn't anything to consider, either. Still, her broadsword was free in her hand, rather than strapped to her back. Just in case - she was looking for a good reason to slice someone in half.

She didn't know him, she didn't think, which probably meant he'd been interacting with Roy. So she simply examined him for a moment, decided he had no weapons readied for immediate use, and then stepped out of the doorway without a word, indicating that he could pass.

He might, however, have noticed something odd during that scrutiny - that her eyes glowed in the dark. Just subtly, but the effect was there: and it was an oddly flickering light they glowed with.

Roy wasn't far behind her, everpresent crossbow slung at his hip, the slanted lean against one shelf deceptively casual. His shirt was rumpled and jacket off, and those wondering exactly what both proprietors of Arsenal & War were doing minding the shop this late were probably better off keeping their wondering to themselves.

"Well, if it isn't the old Green Bee." he drawled, doing his best to recall all the details regarding the man who put him in contact with his best defense against Murder One. "Fancy seeing you again." What are you doing here, unheard, and a sidelong glance to Red said he's not a threat, yet.

That glance was enough to have War sliding her sword back into the straps on her back with the rasp of metal on worn leather - though there was a distinct disappointment in her gaze. Obviously, no slicing people in half to be had here.

Not yet, at least.

She took up a similar pose, propping one full hip against the countertop and leaning her weight against it. Her hands stayed free, though - and in a room full of weapons, that was enough defense for her.

It left her wondering, though - idle though it may have been - as to just who this character was, and what relation he had to Roy. As in, was this another potential plaything for her to amuse herself with?

Ashe made her way to the store, her arms crossed lightly. Her dress was much less elaborate than usual, and as a result, much less bulky. She'd been making a point of wearing lighter and lighter clothing, all the easier to take up arms should the need arise. To that end, the sword Basch had given her was sheathed at her hip.

She nodded at War as she entered the shop's grounds, smiling politely. "Most sincere congratulations."

(pst. are we lovepotioning it up or is Roy just being ebullient) eatshootsnleves March 31 2010, 05:17:41 UTC
"Your Majesty!"

Roy had been balanced up on the top shelf, there, and nevermind why - leaks in the ceiling, most likely, and not at all that he was knocking on the space to check for hollow bits under the roof. Thump. He was down now, see? All the better to half-mockingly greet a favored guest.

"And most humble thanks to you." Two fingers tapped to a slightly tilted forehead mimicked something like a bow or a salute, in bare minimum. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"

Yeah, he was in a good mood, and hey! His not to reason why.

Her sword got an idle glance from War, and an almost immediate dismissal. She was not one for the smaller sort of weapon that a girl of this size had to carry, due to weight constraints, though she did get some marks for carrying it at all - and the potential for more if she could actually do something with it.

But she wasn't War's type - there was something in the way she carried herself that made that obviously apparent, not to mention her flowery language - and so that cursory glance was really all the attention she got, at least for now.

She did keep an idle ear on the girl's interaction with Roy, though - perhaps there was something of interest to be had.

Ashe is affected too, but her dead husband is still all up in dat, so just less so. dynast_queen April 2 2010, 01:55:45 UTC
"To what? Why, to this, the grand reopening if your shop, sir," Ashe responded amicably, nodding cordially in greeting. "I've something of a penchant for such things, after all. I would be remiss in more ways than one were I to neglect visiting."

Ashe began to move around the store slowly, looking at the various specimens on display. "But you do seem to have good taste."

There weren't many weapons shops that would sell to an offworlder, and the few that would didn't have anything remotely close to what Fett wanted to purchase. Still fully armored with his various weaponry both in sight and hidden away, Boba strolled into Arsenal and War.

One look and he knew they wouldn't have what he wanted either...

Not even glancing at anyone else in the shop, the mercenary quickly went over the weaponry in the place. Bows, crossbows, blades of all shapes and sizes. Nothing he needed. At least this place had some decent slug throwers, unlike most places. Still, they didn't carry any kinds of power packs or anything like what he had always taken for granted as "standard" weaponry.

Well... looks like he'd just have to adapt. He supposed he should start by look at the pistols, they seemed to have the most abundant supply of ammo. A quick glance and he could tell which ones would be worthwhile getting and which were just useless.

War kept an eye on that one - his in-sight weapons were obvious, his hidden ones relatively less so - in case he decided to start something. For now, though, he seemed reserved enough, so her initial tensing (coiling all her muscles under her like a cat about to pounce) relaxed slowly.

He was certainly an interesting character, though, and one War might have to pay a little more attention to in the future. He'd done a quick once-over (she'd recognize that sort of appraisal anywhere), and then moved to the guns and done it again.

So he knew his way around the weaponry, did he? That was interesting - and possibly potentially useful. She'd keep that in mind for future reference: and perhaps, if he tarried much longer, see if she couldn't suss out just what he was after.
