Shadows flickering in the dark aren't that easy to judge for size, but he knows that's not Batman. And Nightwing doesn't flash a cape. He hasn't even seen Nightwing since Dick got back, which is disturbing now that it occurs. Especially since that's the guy he's looking for.

There, again. A cape edge over a rooftop. Robin hovers for a second and then veers off to the right, detouring in an urgent mission but he has to make sure.

(Maybe Batgirl was back. It happened for Schrodinger.)

If it was Batgirl she'd probably see him coming, keeping pace a block away with only the steep-shingled roofing for cover. He angles to intercept atop an old church, only two seconds ahead. That's plenty of time to land, coil, and turn to face his fate.

Damian knows instantly when he's being followed, he has his hood up and it's obscuring his vision but he doesn't need to see to know it. He can't tell who it is but if they're that intend on catching him then he'll soon find out.

So he keeps going.

Right up to the roof of the old church when he notices his follower aiming to intercept and he stops. He tenses then for a second, ready to battle, until he realizes who it is. There's definitely something essentially different but there's no mistaking it. Especially not when he keeps in mind what Dick told him.

"Drake."

The name stings like a barb and he recoils, short slight frame immediately tensed to fight. "I don't think so." Not right now, not with the mask - and not in this town. "And who d'you think you are, Red Hood Lite?" he demands rudely, because what he's really asking is What gives you the freaking right to use that name. He catches the flash of of red and yellow and clenches his teeth against his stomach's sudden lurch.

Maybe Jason did have a sidekick. That could still be it.

Damian doesn't budge, merely observes the reaction. It's hard to imagine the kid in front of him is supposed to be Tim Drake but well, alternate universes and all that. The hostility still seems the same at least. The rude demand makes him sneer though between the cover of the shadows and his hood, it probably remains unseen.

"Don't insult me. I have nothing to do with that lunatic Todd." And with that he finally pushes the hood back and steps out of the shadows, moonlight revealing quite distinctive and unmistakable colours.

"I'm Robin."

The recoil from Tim is immediate and vicious. "That's bull." he snaps, all scorn and visceral revulsion. "You're just sorry you didn't do it right."

He starts pacing, a wide arc away from these strangers and toward the roof edge, his brain on fire. "If you really had something you wanted to talk about--*" and cuts himself off, a scowl wiping it all away. "Tch. Forget it." Fine. He wanted to play that it wasn't that important? That Dick taking on the cowl could be fixed up with a better wording? Fine. He could play this game.

Robin hit the edge, inches from the drop. "Sylar's back on his feet." he flung out, throwing the news away like a rotting piece of trash. "We're going after the sidekick."

There. News delivered. Now he could step backwards and drop away, as soon as he wanted.

If it were just the two of them, he and Tim, Dick may have argued his point, may have reached out to Tim and apologised, but it isn't, Damian is there, so it all comes down to business, and that is the tone that Dick takes.

"Sidekick?" Batman frowns, mood soured just by mention of that man.

Nothing about Sylar's M.O said he worked, or would be willing to work with a partner. The guy was a loner, out for his own personal gain. "Who?"

"Maybe if you'd been doing the real work you'd already know." And Robin's voice is thick with abandonment and betrayal, as he casts a dark look at them both. Batman and Robin. Fakers. Swooping around in cape and cowl with his name while he dug up corpses alone.

"Shepherd." he drops, taking some kind of hollow satisfaction knowing it won't mean anything to Dick. "The guy behind the curtain. Talk to Rogue if you want a real update." Since you aren't in the loop.

Shift, slink. Heel to the edge. "I don't think you've got anything to say to me."
