Lavi looked at her, examining her face and expressions, and the way she.. really didn't look happy about the decision at all. It was better this way; it was. He couldn't waver on his decision after all the thinking he had put into it. This was the best outcome. Anything else would only end with them both hurting, and that could easily be avoided by... doing exactly what he was.

"Did you expect me to say something else?" he asked lowly, still gazing in her direction with his expression void of any cheerfulness. "Just curious."

She looked away for a moment at his question. Was she? Lenalee didn't know, to be honest. "No, not really.."

This was all for the best, wasn't it? The only good solution was to, like Lavi said, forget all about it. What else could they do, other than to forget all about it? Lavi was right, and Lenalee knew it-- yet she couldn't quite look him in the eye.

After a moment of silence, he pushed himself from the wall, gaze lingering on her for a little while longer. He glanced down, staring at the floor through a narrowed eye, then closed it and sighed. "For what it's worth, you're a good kisser!" Lifting his head, he shot Lenalee a joking grin as he raised his hands to link them at the base of his skull.

"So thanks for the experience~" Lavi hastily ducked out of the room after that, just wanting to get out of there and away from the suffocating atmosphere.

Everything was back to normal, or so it seemed. Lenalee managed to smile at Lavi despite herself. "Thanks." Lenalee looked away for a bit. "You're not too bad yourself, Lavi," she teased.

She let Lavi leave the room then, and said nothing. But something caught hold of her, and Lenalee found herself running out of the door after Lavi, then grabbing one of his hands with her own.

"I'm sorry," she whispered. "I'm sorry about what happened."

Lavi really thought he had escaped that conversation forever when he suddenly heard her running after him. He tried to move quicker, but stopped when her hand clutched his. His head remained facing away from her, even while she spoke. "Just let me go, Lenalee," he thought to himself, though at the same time, he made no effort to pull away from her.

Forcing another smile, he turned. "What're you apologizin' for? It was the mistletoe's fault."
