WHO: Kiba [oneofthedogs]; Open to troublemakers! WHAT: Initial meeting of some of our scallywags and pranksters? WHERE: The volleyball court at the beach WHEN: Early afternoon
Iggy didn't mind rain so much - he was blind, after all, what difference did it make if visibility was impaired? And he liked flying over the beach: no need to worry about crashing into buildings or trees or whatever.
To be honest, the rain was sort of nice - kept him from overheating or anything while he was flying, and it was sort of neat to feel the drops against his outstretched wings.
There was laughter, though, loud and raucous - and did he recognize it? Curiously, he swept a wing and banked towards the sound, realizing as he got closer that he did know who it belonged to: he'd heard it drifting from his journal the day Nill got pranked.
He came in for his landing just as the laughter stopped, beating his wings furiously to slow himself down - though he did stagger slightly, as always. It wasn't as easy when he didn't have someone else to follow.
"Hey...Kiba, right?" he asked casually, tucking his wings back against his spine.
The sound of air rushing was caught by his hearing, sharpening every day since he'd gotten to this island. Kiba rolled and twisted, propelling himself off the ground with a showy flip. Not that it'd make any difference, he knew, recognising the guy -- he just liked to do it. "Hey, yeah, that's right. Kiba." His grin carried in his voice, even as he rubbed his arm a little where he'd fallen on it.
Akamaru padded over with a quiet 'woof', til wagging as he made his way over to Iggy. "Oh, yeah. Akamaru, this is Iggy. One of the guys who helped when you were hurt." His tone shifted as he went back to talking to Iggy. "This is Akamaru. I guess you guys have met already, sorta."
His fingers locked together behind his head, and he grinned at the other guy. "Hey, did you know that court over there bounces? Guess it ain't that big a deal if you can fly and stuff, but it's pretty freakin' fun."
"Oh, yeah," Iggy said, an answering grin on his own face, "your giant dog, right?" He put a hand out towards the sound of paws on sand, careful to keep his fingers curled - he'd heard that was the way to do it, somewhere. Who knew where, though.
While he waited for Akamaru's reaction, he turned his attention back to Kiba. "Bouncy, huh? How d'you think they did that? And, more importantly," his grin got a little wider here, and his wings twitched slightly in anticipation, itching to spread out from his back, "how much height do you get?"
Kiba laughed. "Tellin' you, man, he ain't that big!"
Okay, maybe he was a bit on the big side. But he was a familiar, it was normal for them. He watched with his hands shoved in his pockets as Akamaru sniffed at Iggy's hand, poking it with his nose before turning to Kiba and barking. "Yeah, that's right," he told the dog, not offering any explanation to Iggy, and Akamaru poked the other boy's hand again before licking it.
He paused as he mulled over the question. "Not sure how they did it. Looks like regular sand." Wandering back over, Kiba poked the area with his foot. "Maybe some jutsu, or-- I guess magic or whatever." An then he grinned at Iggy. "Dunno how high, but it was pretty good!" His own grin got more mischievous. "Maybe we could make it higher. Higher you start, higher you're gonna bounce, right?"
Vivi liked to wander around the city. He appreciated the house, sure--Dagger was always good company, but he liked exploring too. She'd warned him to stay away from the jungle, which he obediently did: Vivi was a good kid and tried to stay out of trouble, but she hadn't said anything about the beach. He figured that was safe enough.
The little mage wasn't bothered by the cool air or the fog--the rain was a little depressing, and reminded him of Burmecia, but Rivelata was nothing like that, he thought. Not cold and dark...and not really scary to him. Plus, he'd made friends.
As he approached the beach, he saw two boys--one had to be Iggy, 'cause of the wings, but the other boy he didn't know. He was about to say hello to Iggy when the sight of the giant dog made him stumble backward and fall.
Reese was wondering around in the woods. It didn't matter if it was raining- who cared about mud, anyway? He was crazy bored, and there was always something interesting in the woods. Poking around bugs and rocks was getting boring after a while. There was never anything to do in that place!
Seeing someone jumping, he got excited. Moving up through the trees it was... a trampoline?

The same way Vivi had identified Iggy by his wings, Iggy had recognized Vivi by his voice - it was fairly distinctive. He didn't know anybody else who talked quite like that.
He also recognized the sound of stumbling footsteps, the solid 'thud' of a body hitting the ground - and the sound of surprise (or was it fear?) in a person's voice. He'd definitely heard enough of that to know what it sounded like.
He grinned in Kiba's general direction, while he moved over to offer a hand to Vivi - or, the best approximation he could make of where Vivi had landed.
Sounds like a fine plan :DoneofthedogsNovember 2 2009, 16:55:29 UTC
Kiba cocked an eyebrow at Vivi. "Name's Akamaru." he unspoken part of that went something like "never seen a dog before?" His arms were crossed and he didn't sound mean, but maybe a little incredulous. "I think you guys are just used to wimpy-ass dogs. Akamaru's a ninja, like me."
Maybe that was acknowledging he was something special, but Kiba had no problem talking about how great Akamaru was. He just didn't see why people freaked out about his size so much.
His sharp hearing caught another voice and he looked towards it. Oh, hey! Cool! Another random guy. "Hi!" he called with a wave.
"Geez, Iggy. It's like you started a party or something. Where are the girls?"

Yeah, this was a great idea.
