McCoy had cleaned everything up for Ba'ast so that she had a more comfortable place to talk and get help. Ever since those dreams, he had noticed how differently Ba'ast acted. She used to be so open and now her behavior was almost the complete opposite.

When she walked in, Leonard turned to bring his full attention to her. He had dealt with many cases like this... Well, similar to this.

"Sit down, Ba'ast." He pulled out a chair for her, then sat in his own chair. "What did you need?" He figured he'd start with something broad. McCoy hoped that he would have more luck with her than he did before in the journals.

I was trying to think of random things he isn't. :| piratebaast October 16 2009, 17:15:56 UTC
She watched him for a moment, suddenly feeling the nervousness and anxiety she should have felt with that goddamn, good for nothing tailor she'd visited a few days ago.

Maybe that was it, though. Leonard knew her ( ... )

Keeping a good eye on her body language, McCoy listened to her closely. He barely had an idea of what had happened to her but by the way she was acting, it was bad.

He was slightly surprised by her forwardness. Most were nervous to show a doctor their scars or take off their clothes. Well, injured or not, this was still Ba'ast.

But as his eyes caught onto the injuries, his jaw dropped. "You've been neglecting these?" Bones straightened himself again. "Ba'ast, you should have come to me or another doctor sooner. Your ribs could be fractured or even broken. I'm sure there's even more than just your ribs." He took a deep breath. "You can't ignore injuries. You have to get help so that they can heal properly. If you ignore it, it won't heal the right way and the unjury will always be there." Taking another breath, McCoy clasped his hands together.

"Alright, well, we'll get this fixed." He told Ba'ast confidently.

She narrowed her eyes as he spoke. He was right. Of course he was right. "I didn't care," she admitted quietly. "There was nothing I could do that was going to get the inscription to go away. ...Nothing that I should have done." She didn't deserve to be rid of them, did she? For what she'd done, she deserved every word. "Who gives a damn about wings, after something like that. They'd already been ripped out. How much more damage could be done?"

Ba'ast leaned forward to rest her hands on the back of the chair, and stared blankly at the floor, but only for a fleeting minute. When she stood back, she folded her arms over her her chest, cupping her hands beneath her chin as she turned to face him. An incredibly modest move, on her part, but the reason was immediately obvious; the script hadn't simply carved itself into her back, but her neck, chest, and stomach, as well.

"How can you fix it?"

McCoy was having problems following what she was talking about. It normally happened when he had no idea what had happened. His eyes glanced at the markings on her and he cocked an eyebrow. Where in the world did those come from? "Okay, slow down. First of all, where did those come from?"

His eyes stayed glued to the mysterious markings. Leonard sighed to himself. Maybe this had more than he had believed. "We can't "fix" this. We'll help it and treat it. Whatever it is." He paused. "What exactly did you want "fixed"?"

"I don't fucking know! Whatever the hell you can do, I just want it gone!" She couldn't help her frustration over it. She was angry and sad, and ... terrified. Good gods, above, was she terrified. "I just fucking--" She lowered her voice as she realized she was screaming, and turned her head away, but the calm didn't last long.

Her fists shook under her chin and she raised her hands to cover her face. She just wanted to keep screaming. "It's a fucking incantation. Just ... Fucking do something! I don't care what the hell you do, just.... Even if all you can do is fix whatever the hell is going on with my wings, just fucking do it, but I can't stand this. I can't--" She paused for a moment, taking a deep breath, and she slowly exhaled. "I can't be ugly any more! I can't see...." She trailed off.

Bones appeared taken back when she started shouting. He looked at the marks on her skin again. Finally, he stood up and took a step closer to her. McCoy wasn't going to touch her but he needed to see the markings closer. "Calm down." He told her as he took another step, staring at the incantations.

A feeling of horror filled Leonard's chest as he got a better look at them. They seemed to be sinking in instead of coming out. He had never seen skin heal in such a way...

"Ba'ast, you're not ugly." He told her, raising his head and meeting her eyes with his own. "You are a beautiful woman and these aren't going to change that." McCoy sighed. "Truthfully, I don't think we'll be able to make the scars disappear when they fully heal. We do not have the technology to do that here." He said in a saddened voice.
