[Ishida doesn't bother formulating a retort to either Matsumoto or Abarai. Instead, he simply pushed his glasses up and started. His voice was soft, but intense, and as he spoke, he avoided looking at any of them, staring, instead, at his hand, fingers tracing the thin scar about his wrist like a bracelet.]

Most nightmares others experienced were of the past. Not so in this case. This... this took place immediately following when I was taken. As I told Kuchiki-san, Kurosaki was... grievously wounded. The reiatsu of the Cuarta was so thick I couldn't tell from his reiatsu whether he was dead or alive at that point, but I knew Inoue-san would be able to do something, and so I tried to hold the Cuarta off long enough for her to do something. I...

[The fist that had been severed clenched.]

My strength proved insufficient. I, too, was defeated. That was how I received my injuries, including the loss of my hand.

[Well. Most of his injuries. Of course, if anyone looked again at the journal entry, there might be some inconsistencies, but ( ... )

[Listening carefully, her eyes widen in realization at his words. Not only would it explain what reiatsu she had felt in that vision some time ago, but it would also mean-]

Ichigo...? He is alive?

To all appearances, yes, Kurosaki is very much alive, Schiffer is defeated, and Inoue-san is safe.
