He didn't jump. He'd been alert to her presence for some time now, perhaps before she had even noticed him.

He didn't wish her away, he didn't want to be left alone; he'd spent more than enough time with his thoughts for one day. But the fact of the matter is that the thought had never even crossed his mind, seemingly skipping any thought for himself he fixed a smile in place and turned to look up at her.

"Hey, Kairi." The girl knew Nightwing, so this was perhaps the first chance meeting 'Jimmy' and Kairi had ever had.

The smile took on a more self-deprecating humor as Dick gave a short silent laugh before he looked out to sea. "That obvious, huh?"

Dick rolled with the nudge, swaying back to his centre with a certain real smile, something tinged with fondness pulling at the corners of his lips. The kindness of strangers...

The smile softened and Dick brushed his hands together before setting his elbows on his knees, a level of concentration and focus creasing his brow, just a little. "I'm told that keeping everything to yourself is bad." But that there are some things you must keep to yourself. Dick turned his head a little, the self-same smile of kindness on his face, "I wouldn't want to keep you from anything."
