Now, Roy Mustang was pretty sure he was, well, Roy Mustang. What was Ed talking about, a "different" Mustang? While it was logical to say that this Ed and Al were from the future, just by the looks of things, it was almost completely illogical to say that they were from a different world, almost. That just didn't make sense... or did it?
"So what you're saying is that you and Al are from the same world, but from different times, and I'm from a completely different world," he said as he brought his hand up to his chin, bushing his finger against the noticable stuble, clearly ignoring Ed's last remark. He really was trying to get his head around all this information.
It had to make sense, if Ed's only recollection of him getting injured was due to a battle with the Fuhrer (which was a preposterous idea at that). Then again, even in his world, Ed wouldn't have known that he fought and defeated Lust... but Al would have, which made Ed's conclusion much more convincing
( ... )
Al remember the confusion that had come up over Envy - an Envy who insisted he was not their half-brother, as they remembered, but someone else entirely. And his brow furrowed as Mustang related his story.
"Lust?" he echoed, confused. "I never fought Lust - well, not with you, at least. She was one of the homunculi who kidnapped me, but Brother came to get me after that."
He looked sideways at Edward, in confirmation - not that he particularly needed it. He remembered the feel of those nails against his bloodseal, that shuddering scrape, and he didn't think he could ever forget Ed's panic.
"And you did fight the Fuhrer," he insisted, turning his eyes back to Mustang. "Because he was a homunculus, too. Pride. He concealed his Ouroboros behind his eyepatch."
"I'm going to wager and say that it's more similar than different. After all, everything... certainly points that way." He sighed, scratching the back of his head as he turned to walk over to the window, trying to think as he stared out over the street. "Events are different. Maybe little details..." He mumbled.
But Roy's words... Lust. That sent off bells in his mind, and his frown deepened as the wheels in the mans prodigy brain turned.
"Al is right. But nothing matches up, here. I never went to Risembool without Al. At least, not while he was left with the Military to fight a Homunculi." He turned, flopping himself down into a chair as he covered his mouth with his hand and crossing one leg over the other, trying to think. "Fuck..." He mumbled, before lifting his hand a little to rub at his eyes.
Roy thought about how much he should tell them, and how much he shouldn't. And the Fuhrer, a homumculus? It seemed too far-fetched of an idea, but if you really thought about it, maybe it wasn't. Though that was the least of his worries right now. What mattered now was getting their stories straight... at least somewhat.
"Same people, different details..." Roy muttered, the gears in his brain turning. Then deciding to let the boys in on what exactly happened to him, he said, "These injuries were Lust's doing. She thought she had left me for dead, but I was able to sear my wounds closed and come to you- Hawkeye and Al's aid. After I killed Lust, well..." His voice trailed off, as he remembered blacking out and ending up here.
Al remained standing, although he shifted his weight to lean against the back of Ed's chair. 'Killed Lust', the Colonel had said, and suffered these injuries in the process? Al definitely didn't remember that ever happening - and that didn't seem like the sort of thing you could easily forget.
"Killed her?" he asked. "But how? You would have had to have something of hers - something from the woman she was before she became a homunculus." It was the only way they'd ever discovered to kill the homunculi, and he couldn't recall if they'd ever known who Lust had been before her transformation.

This was all too confusing.
