T-T I'm so sorry... silverankh May 1 2009, 05:29:25 UTC
A nice, homely cup of tea sounded like a brilliant idea. The fact that she was having it with Grell of all people - who'd grown to be her absolute favorite person on the island - was just the icing on the cake. Brimming over with excitement she pulled open the door and threw her arms around his middle.

"Grell! It's been too long since we've done this. You know. For fun."

Beaming at the Reaper, she pulled away, instead offering a hand to his gloved one as she stepped out the door.

Besides Desdemona being Death herself, besides her being cheerful and sassy and bueaitful- Grell adored her because she was always willing to hug him. Not many people overcame his occupational title and became affectionate with Grell Sutcliff but then again not many lived after meeting him.

"Oh I know! Far too long if you ask me, Des." He returned her embrace, pausing to kiss her cheek playfully. Taking her hand, he shepherded her close and under his umbrella before heading down the lane into the main Market Square.

They knew him well at the tea house, waving him in and guiding the pair of them to the private tea room on the upper floor where a magnificent window view greeted them.

Like a gentleman, though he clearly was in denial, he pulled the chair back for her before taking a seat himself.
"Do tell me what's been happening, Des. I can't remember the last time we sat down and chatted!"

Tea houses and private rooms. From the Medicine Seller - who was long gone now, and for whom Death was more than a little happy, despite how much she missed his conversation - to Grell, her best company here was had over a nice cup of tea. She leaned in close, against his arm as they walked, finding a cheery smile to show to the denizens of the tea house.

"Thanks. This place is lovely," she said, taking a moment to admire the view before taking the seat Grell pulled out for her. Then she laced her fingers together under her chin, watching him as he moved to sit down.

"I really wish I had news, Grell, but it's been a lot of the same. Almost too quiet, for this place. It makes me feel like something's coming down the line, and getting back my powers isn't helping that feeling."

"Ah, the- what is it they say? The calm before the storm." The redhead grinned, serving her tea. Luckily for them both, the tea was already prepared and all Grell had to do was pour it. Making tea was not his greatest talent, as all came to know at some point or another.

"How are they coming along?" Tilting his head, he voiced the query before sipping his tea. "At a faster rate than before? Mine's pretty much all here now, so I feel a lot like my old self at last."

He knew for her, regaining her powers would bring about drastic changes to her life here, but for him it really made no difference.
"At least Des, even when you get all your powers back, there's still one person you can do this with." He removed his gloves and held onto her bare hands. The power jolt made his green eyes flare a bright gold and a smile spread on his lips.

"You'll always have someone to hug."
