Beyond had just arrived in the land that he had heard was called Rivelata. Well, it was safe to say that he had never heard of the place before, and he was not sure it quite existed. He was still toying with the idea that he had indeed passed on and this was the afterlife. He was, after all, still covered in gasoline... Which was creating a foul smell and it was rather uncomfortable to walk around in.

He had found out that L was also on the island, and that they needed to speak. So now he was looking around for L, his journal securely shut to avoid anything he did not want to be recorded. He glanced up and saw L, not sure whether he had the urge to narrow his eyes or try to seem friendly. What did one do when facing the man they had tried to defeat, and it seemed to have failed?

"Hello...," B responded, trying not to sound awkward.

As he got closer to the other man, L could smell it. He did not cover his nose or make a noticable gesture to show that he could smell it, but he could. This helped L decide where he had come from. Of course, unless B had decided to practice. Still, L needed to get as much information out of him as he could. It was odd though... Even though he was imprisioned and later killed, he was now here. Along with that, he was starting to wonder if Light would remember him. Kira did kill him after all. If so, L would be have to think about which murderer he would focus more on. But he could do that in a bit.

"So," He began. "I am sure that you would not like to describe what you were doing over the journals for everyone to see. Still, I would like for you to describe what you last remember before arriving here."

B watched the man approach, still unsure whether he wanted to narrow his eyes or smile ever so slightly. He had never intended on seeing L again in person. It was odd how things could turn out, wasn't it? Regardless of that, B was still unhappy with the fact that it seemed L did know all that he had entailed for his plans to be a success. So, even going back home was worthless now it seemed ( ... )

L closed his eyes for a few seconds. The smell was starting to get to him. He opened them and sighed softly. It was very odd for L to be talking to him about this. L had only been one of the people to help arrest him. It was odd to think about all the things he thought about all those years ago. All the memories coming back to him. Really, L did not want to think about it.

His eyes lowered slightly at him asking about why he would need to know. First of all, L tried as well as he could to collect as much knowledge the others from his world knew. Second, he needed to know which point in time they had come from. He hated dealing with the, "No way, that happened?!" kind of thing. It happened too often so it was best to avoid.

L nodded. "I see." He thought for a few seconds. Then, "Well then, I should tell you that it is not wise to try anything of the sort here."

B's eyes narrowed as he watched L. This was far from casual conversation or anything resembling that. He could not shake the feeling he was being used to glean information. How like him to do so. How like L to use others for what they could offer. A surge of anger flared up, and a scowl twitched at the edges of his mouth. He was not in the best of moods, and the condition in which he and his clothing had arrived was not making it any better ( ... )
