As he followed the directions given to him (thankfully, Nise knew where it was, even though his handwriting was a little less than legible), Riku looked at his messily bandaged hand with a wince. He didn't think that would happen--especially not when he had practiced as much as he could. He closed his eyes, pausing in his walking. Tapping the front of his shoes against the ground to make sure they were properly fitted, he took a glance to the right, then to the left. He turned the corner, folding the paper with one hand.

He could already see the front there, so...

Riku instinctively tried to wave, only wincing and grasping his hand. Sure, his wrist wasn't burned, but the way the bandages were wrapped, every little movement sent pinpricks of pain down his arm.

Kurama caught the beginning motions of the wave out of the corner of his eye, and glanced up in time to see Riku wince and grasp at his hand. With a soft sound of disapproval - really, why hadn't he seen one of the many healers Kurama knew were around? - he moved around the front counter and to the door, ushering Riku inside.

"Come," he said, with a wave of his hand that was almost impatient from worry and the desire to get Riku's hand treated and bandaged as quickly as possible - and that was something else Kurama was rather well-versed in: the neat wrapping of body parts due to wounds of various sizes.

He moved back to the counter and flipped open the first-aid kit he kept in the shop - with the number of people living there and the sheer amount of arguing (most of it good-natured) that went on, it had seemed like a very prudent idea - running his fingers over the neatly organized supplies before extracting a fresh roll of bandages. He set them down beside the poultice, then held out one hand.

"Show me."

Riku's eyes raised as he saw Kurama's wave. Briskly walking in after him, a quiet sigh was pushed past his lips. It seemed like he was getting hurt a lot lately--was he really that out of focus? Maybe he needed to train more--without Nise around. He'd be able to think more, then, and stop thinking while he cooked. Really, it was getting kind of ridiculous.

He was silent as he came to a stop a few feet from Kurama, keeping a comfortable distance away. Riku's eyes dropped down to his burnt hand as he rose it to his face, grimacing. It didn't look pretty. At all. After a moment or so of thought, he held it out for Kurama to see.

"I guess it's not... too bad. It's not third-degree, at least, right?"

As carefully as he could, Kurama took Riku's hand and unwrapped the bandages, doing his best not to rub or pull at any of the injured skin, his fingers moving slowly and gently. Once the bandages had been unwrapped, Kurama let them fall carelessly to the countertop, more concerned with examining the injury.

"It isn't terrible, no," he agreed, turning Riku's arm carefully to see all sides of the burn, "and not third-degree, though I wouldn't have expected that from a...cooking burn, did you say this was? What were you doing, to have burned yourself so badly?"

It wasn't something that couldn't be fixed, for certain - though Kurama wasn't sure whether or not he could manage to get rid of any scars that might result. It was probably still early enough, but it was clear that Riku hadn't taken great steps to keep from aggravating the wound - the wrapping, the lack of any sort of healing magic or poultice, at least.
