Time of day? deals_death February 5 2009, 04:26:39 UTC
I'd like to have Selene participate, but is this log taking place during the day?

Considering how long I expect the Scribe is waiting for people in the other log, I think we can push it to early evening.

Must there be no daylight at all, or so long as it's after sunset?

Direct sunlight burns her on contact, but skulking through the shadows seems to work.

He finished his work for the day, and thought that he'd spent enough damned time grumping about the strange damper put upon his powers the moment he set foot in this strange place. As a man who never really spent time at home, he crossed the bridge and went exploring the moment he clocked out ( ... )

That scent on the wind...

Selene's eyes went wide as she rushed to the window, throwing the latch back and pushing the panes outward to thrust her head out into the darkening night. She breathed deeply, trying to catch that hint again, that barest flickering of the familiar smell. Salt from the sea, fish from the wharf, the spices and meats of the marketplace, the unwashed masses, and the damp earth of the jungle just beyond her window; it was like searching blindly through an ocean for a fish you'd scarcely seen. But she swore it was there, that couldn't have been a fluke.

But ah! There it was again, unmistakable this time. One of the many odors that had drawn her out into the jungle so many months ago. It felt like years now... She gripped the windowsill, teeth gritting. Hadn't they said he was the cause of all this? That she wouldn't even be stuck in this place if it weren't for him? All this loss, all this death... Michael, Jade... was for him.Not anymore ( ... )

The nonsense over the journals earlier today had made him want to kill someone, and he found that kind of urge rising more and more in him. Murder in the tree wouldn't work, but he found the idea of murder in Rivelata appealing. For one, it quite possibly would disappear sometime soon, and people had no powers there. But a couple moments later he'd quashed the thought and figured that people would hate him. That only helped a little, but it was enough to send him bolting into the jungle. There, he was unrestrained, and would eventually look back at his own savagery at taking down monsters much larger than himself and feel both ashamed and proud ( ... )

Standing in the field, Twenty - Zikhadhara - took a few steps towards the red light in the sky. After one, two, three steps - but then his whole body shook and he froze. It was much the same as near the water's edge. His feet and hands began to glow red while his eyes emitted yellow.

There was only one problem; his magic had been contained here. So it wasn't of his doing...

"Then who is doing this... Who is doing this to me?!"

Slowly, ever so slowly, he rotated on the spot, trying to take everything in.

Glazed, barely focusing eyes saw the three figures and narrowed. "Was it any of you?"

If this is all that's coming, we won't need to bother with the battle structure I tried to describe above, so replies to the main entry will be fine.
