Hakkai was almost certain that he had freaked Kurama out - and that was a difficult thing to do to a centuries-old youkai. He made his way out to the yard as well, where his two companions were sparring.

Sanzo would have threatened their lives ages ago, so neither of them probably knew what to do with each other for this long.

Hakuryu - long absent due to all of the noise and turmoil of Rivelata - cheeped from the tree he perched himself in. Hakkai sighed and made his way outside, to try and distract the two.

"This is ridiculous--" he started to say.

As of late Gojyo had been feeling a little... well ignored. Dissed, really. Normally, he had no problems keeping track of what new thing was going on in Rikku's life because she wrote to her friends in the journal all the time - it wasn't something he fully understood her reasons for, but it helped him out all the same ( ... )

"YOU'RE ON, YOU PERVY KAPPA!" Goku screamed, laughing in glee and swung his staff, smacking the crescent away.

He ran to Goyjo and swung the staff once more. "EXTEND, NYOI-BO!"

The pink staff grew longer, heading straight for Gojyo.

"Is that - ?" Kurama started, but cut himself off rather quickly. Of course it was, hadn't Hakkai told him this was the Son Goku? He was still trying to adjust to that knowledge, but had found that the situations in which he thought of the boy more as a legend and less as just a trouble-making boy were few and far between. Goku just acted so much like a normal boy in most situations that Kurama was not at all hard-pressed to keep his promise to Hakkai about treating Goku no differently.

And, to be honest, it was Gojyo's weapon that was a bit more interesting. He'd never asked the hanyou, of course, about his fighting style, so it came as something of a surprise that that they appeared to have more in common than their red hair. A preference for distance weapons, for instance - and Kurama had, on more than one occasion, been acquainted with chained weapons. An extension of his use of the whip, if slightly more unwieldy with the added weight and the loss of the ability to subtly manipulate them on the fly with his powers ( ... )

Hakkai raised his arm, allowing Hakuryu to land on it, and shook his head. "Sometimes, it is best to let them have it out. Sanzo usually doesn't stand for it, so-" Hakkai paused, expression schooled carefully into neutral. It was so natural to think about their fourth member, but so unnatural for him to have up and disappeared -- they'd never found any evidence of him, so it was almost like he'd never been in Rivelata. As far as Goku knew, Sanzo hadn't ever set foot here.

"So," he repeated, clearing his throat. "If you can distract them, they might get it over with faster."
