There were so many questions unanswered here. How had he come to be here, and why? Why had he not been notified of this? No. Notified. Notified. He would have been told. He would have been talked to. This was nothing resembling routine training.

Here. Alone. In this dangerous place with whipping, snapping plants. Monsters. Monsters.

Not a familiar face in sight.

Not a familiar voice.

The panic churned in his stomach and Omi twisted the fabric of his too-big shirt nervously as he meandered through the unfamiliar streets of the strange city.

Scared.

Alone.

Be strong. It's ... okay. Be strong. It's not....The sound of cracking, whipping vines broke through his silence, startling the young boy. He turned to see another one of the large plants just a few feet away, blocking his exit from the street. There were more behind him, and though they didn't seem particularly hostile towards him, they did towards others; the danger was clear ( ... )

Sena panted heavily as he ducked around an alley in an attempt to escape the plants. They weren't chasing him, not at all. But they were everywhere. Absolutely everywhere.

A strangled cry caught his attention and turning to the source, he realised ducking into the alley was a very bad idea.Biting back a sceam of horror, he turned and ran again, away from the vines that were slowly strangling a man with an axe to death. He didn't watch where he was going. He didn't pay attention to his path. He just ran like he never had before.

Only to collide with someone else in his path.

The collision knocked Omi square off his feet, and he tumbled backward with a loud THUMP! onto the hard cobblestone street beneath him. He winced and reached back to rub at his lower back. 'Always be aware of your surroundings. If you're not, it could cost you--'

He sighed and stifled a few more tears, his blurry vision focused on the uneven stones. Finally, after several moments, he looked up and toward whatever-- whoever-- he'd run into.

It was another child.

"H-hey--" he called out, "are you okay?"

Sena winced as he rubbed his head, where he had knocked it against the ground. The large bruise from his earlier fall was throbbing angrily as he moved into a sitting position gingerly. That hurt more than it should have.

He wiped the tears from his face and stared at the boy he had run into.

"I-I'm fine," he stuttered eyes wide. "I-I'm really sorry for running into you like that!"

He looked at the other boy in worry.

"W-what about you? A-are you alright?"

"I'm okay." Omi smiled reassuringly, furrowing his brow apologetically. "I should have been watching where I was going but," his smile widened, and he pushed himself up to his feet, dusting himself off before he reached out to lend a hand to the boy.

"I'm glad you're okay! You shouldn't be out here so late, though. It's dangerous...." He paused. "How did you get here?"

Sena smiled back a little hesitantly. This boy seemed nice enough and nothing like the scary boys at school. Taking the hand, he pulled himself up.

"T-thanks," he replied. A flusterd look crossed his face. He had a feeling that "he ran away to find his parents that weren't here at all" wasn't going to make sense in the slightest. Or go over very well at all.

"I-I'm not really sure," he admittedly shly as he shuffled slightly on the spot. "I-I just...got scared, I guess and panicked enough to run."

God, why couldn't he be smarter and cooler like Mamori-neechan or Riku?

"A-hey, wait! What about you?" Sena protested.

Unlike Omi, Ken had to dodge plants that were trying their hardest to kill him, so his going through the streets was much slower, and by the time he approached the alleyway he was thoroughly annoyed and covered in stray chlorophyll. Damn plants.

"Omi?" he called, trying to ignore the ache from his broken arm. But more plants were coming, and Ken really wished he hadn't taken the werecurse remedy that Edward had made--maybe if he was half-bird, the damn things would leave him alone. But he'd scare Omi then, so...tradeoffs.

[SORRY FOR THE LATENESS. D:] truthandfreesia November 19 2008, 07:23:28 UTC
"Ah..." He dug the toes of his shoes into the ground, casually averting his gaze. "I don't ... know. Something ... is very strange about this." He paused, then suddenly flashed a carefree smile and looked back up at him. "Maybe that's just me!"

'Strange' was an understatement, but he couldn't think of a better--

'Omi?'

Omi turned his head toward the sound of his name. Had someone come for him? Whoever it was, it certainly wasn't Manx. "Hello?"
