Another day had passed, and all Nuala could think of as she moved across the cooled sands of the beach was that another evening alone was just over the next crashing wave.

Abraham had disappeared days ago. Where he'd gone, she had no clue. She could only assume that, like so many others, he had succumb to this strange land. Death was as much a part of existence as Life was, and she, more than anyone, understood that completely. While she was sure he was in a much better place-- somewhere he belonged, and perhaps even back with his friends-- the problem of her heartache remained.

As long as she'd lived, and as much as she'd loved, coming to terms with loosing someone she held so dear had always remained painful.

As she watched the waves, she began to notice something strange-- something that she couldn't recall seeing in years. She moved further into the water, a chill shooting up her spine as the cold waves soaked the fabrics of her dress, and raised a hand to her brow. A .. whale?

"So close to shore?"

A wild Yuna appears? letmesendyou November 3 2008, 03:41:19 UTC
Yuna often took walks on the shore in the evening, playing in the sherbet-colored light and practicing the Sending dance to pass the time. This was what she was doing now, twirling her staff, lost in thought as her skirts turned and swayed in the pattern of a wave's ripcurl.

The loss of the spirits of the isle had left her both relieved and empty. She was so relieved that the dead had finally achieved a well earned, peaceful rest, but she also missed their company. It made her not feel so alone, these ghosts of ones loved.

She was so lost in thought that she didn't seem to notice the other two visitors to the ocean.

Shin heard Nuala speak and leaned back on his arms as he sat on the beach. "I'm trying to get him to go back to the bay, actually," Shin explained, catching sight of Yuna as he did so. "So he doesn't get himself beached by accident - then I'd have a heck of a time helping him get out of the shallows again." He gave a casual indication to the water lapping at his feet. "Suiki isn't used to this warm of water - Hagi's much cooler and the sea's deeper there, so I guess he needs a bit of retraining."

He spoke more towards Yuna now. "But then again I'd hate to force someone to go against nature's flow." But she was distracted, that much he could tell by where her eyes went as she walked. "You're welcome to enjoy the sunset with us, ojousan - it's meant for everyone, after all."

Since drinking Edward's concoction, Daine had never felt more complete... Well, that was a lie. She hadn't felt more complete than here. It suppressed the beast that curse had awoken, and allowed her more control over it than ever before. She was finally able to walk among the two-leggers without the fear it would jump out and hurt them.

Her face raised to the sky as she walked among them, mind hearing the noise of an orca's mind. How long had it been...? It seemed so long ago now. Daine hurried on, probably spurred by the idea that it had come, and not alone.

She had shed her woodland clothes for native garb and padded out onto the warm sand, both sending the orca a greeting, "Hello, podbrother!", and waving to the others who had gathered.

Shin is living the life right now - 3 girls! 8D shounenphelps November 3 2008, 14:18:49 UTC
Suiki suddenly became excited again, trying to come closer to Daine. "She speaks! She speaks like Seidhe*! Maybe now he'll speak again!" He dipped his nose into the water and blew foam in her direction, along with a low whine. "SeeeEEIIiiiidhe!"

All the same, Shin did have a vague idea of what was going and gave Daine a wry smile. "You've riled him up again, ojousan - he'll beach himself for sure now!" Shin stood up then, taking a few steps toward Suiki out in the water, waiting to see if he'd really need to go back out to help his friend.
