Kurogane walked towards his (rather strange-looking) opponent in silence, Ginryuu not strapped to his waist today but instead held firmly in his remaining hand. He didn't know yet exactly why Kuwabara couldn't use his sword right away, nor exactly what that sword was, but it didn't phase him; he'd bring his katana out when the fight became blade against blade. It was simple.

It felt strange to be going to spar without his familiar armor, but it would have slid down over his severed shoulder. Instead Fay had given him a simple shirt that the (ex?) vampire had pinned up at the wound, covering it in a manner Kurogane supposed was meant to be discreet.

He was an amputee, he thought bleakly. But he'd learn to fight like this, because it was necessary. His balance would be off, but he would find a new centre of gravity. He'd have lost certain tricks and some mobility, but he would find a new way to move. He would keep moving forward, and not be slowed by the loss of his arm. That was why he had come.

Kuwabara blanched a little when he saw Kurogane. Has he always been like that?! A strong guy like him- well... He concentrated really, really hard and finally got the smallest of glows off of the other man. Not much, like normal, but yeah. Strong. Geez, well... good.

Sometimes his age was very obvious - being in Junior High, he was not nearly as matured as someone like Kurogane, but he WAS a mature fighter. That had been a focal point of his life for years now, plus becoming more intense with the recent events of Dark Tournaments and Spirit Detective work alongside Urameshi and everything - what he lacked in mental maturity he more than made up for in guts.

Finally, he answered Kurogane. "Aa." Straightening his back, Kuwabara walked after the ninja. It was his first time beyond the walls, so he made sure to take everything in.

Kurogane took his natural long strides into the forest, trampling down bushes and brambles and planet life half-flattened already by wear and time. He didn't check to see if the kid was behind him - for kid his opponent definitely was - but didn't need to, either. At least the boy was eager, and if he was good enough for Kurogane to regain what he needed to, that was all that mattered

Kuwabara made sure to keep up with Kurogane, but not so close as to break his personal bubble. He knew this guy's type, and for what it was worth seriously respect as cool a guy as him and they hadn't even fought yet.

Kuwabara nodded at the man's suggestion before clenching his fists in excitement. "Weapons. Anything but guns goes, but same weapon against same weapon, starting with fists, so if you pull that sword, I getta' try out my Reiken again. Same way, if I think I can summon my Reiken, you can come at me with yer sword."

It was quick, but the boy caught the sound of "N." - an affirmative - and that was all he needed to get the rumble going.

[[Kuwabara runs straight at Kurogane, fists clenched and ready to punch with both in rapid succession, aiming for the chest first. He'll keep his feet moving so that if Kurogane sidesteps or backs up, he'll be able to keep punching. His face is pretty much like the icons there - excited but focused on the combat. He's not the fastest thing in the world, but he can keep up for awhile at least; he won't tire easily, either, going easily 25 punches (unless interrupted) in a row before showing even the slightest change in time between strikes. He doesn't care much about blocking; he just takes hits and keeps going. He does dodge, however, if he can.]]
