"Not your fault." Yuffie said offhandedly. "Well, kinda. I mean it is but it isn't and...I'm gonna break my own brain if I get into that any further."
She wasn't quite sure how to explain everything, or even what to explain. There were things she didn't know if she should tell him again and things she really was sure he needed to know. And in between those extremes were a lot of memories that she wasn't even sure how to focus into a clear story to cover all of the people and the things he needed to know again.
Like the explanation of what her world was like, or the fact that Leon had been here and died and that Aerith had disappeared twice, or Sephiroth or anything and everything that had happened in Rivelata, both good and bad.
"Okay," She said finally trying to start on everything, weather or not she knew how she was going to explain it. "You might want to sit down. Cause this is gonna take a while. 'Kay Cloudy?"

There were certainly still things that wanted to drive him away, set him on another course -- but being suddenly shoved here in this world seemed to have messed with his original plans. Honestly, Cloud didn't really like to rely on people, even close friends like Tifa and Yuffie. He just had to travel alone, find him alone, fight him alone. Such a long time had been devoted to finding and destroying that man, and now, when Cloud had become so close...
But he was now apparently stuck in a world not a part of the system he was familiar with -- and did that mean that his work had suddenly been reset

Tifa followed Cloud and Yuffie, glancing over her shoulder to be certain no one else was going the same route.
Cloud's demand gave her pause. She'd barely known this man, and while he was very much like her Cloud, she had no idea how he'd react to this...news. She remembered being in this situation two years ago, and being so frightened by his mental state that she'd been content to perpetuate the half-truths his mind had created.
She had a chance this time, to redeem herself...to tell Cloud the truth. But she wasn't sure how to begin. How did you tell someone that they'd died? That they'd allowed themselves to die?
"Something...happened. To the other you." Tifa took a deep breath and glanced over to Yuffie, suddenly nervous. "I'm...not exactly sure what it was, but I think...I think you--he just gave up."
"Yeah." Yuffie agreed quietly, her head tipped back and not really looking at Cloud. It had only been a little while and the whole thing still HURT. More then she really wanted to admit.
"I still don't understand it, but you talked a lot about darkness, and how the darkness was getting stronger. Then..." She paused, trying to think of exactly how much she wanted to tell and closing her eyes tight as she tried to continue speaking. "Some things happened, and you-he...just let his heart get taken. All I know is that for months you-he said he said the darkness was getting stronger, then he just let it take him

Tifa's opening had raised a small concern in Cloud. He knew that sometimes yes, he did give up, but what kind of forfeit would cost him his life? There was only one thing he could think of... but could it really be that
