The watch hadn't worked since she'd came here ( ... )

The woman from the journals was not there, leaving Maya utterly alone in Gabriel's second home. Choking back sobs, she sat at the table where they declared their love for each other, where he spun her around in circles, where they kissed, and hugged, and laughed. To think they could have had a future together. He was going to save money to open up another business, a restaurant just for Maya, for her cooking, and they would live together, get married, start a family --

She wiped her face, pulling back her hair as best she could - it had grown longer since she first came here. Long, wild, and black as her eyes had once been. Sniffing loudly as another woman entered the shop. Maya turned in surprise.

It did not look like Miranda.

A customer.

"I-I-I'm sorr-sorry," Maya stuttered, ringing her hands in her lap. "G-Gabriel...gabriel..."

She could barely understand what the other woman was trying to say, she was stuttering and sniffling far too loudly. Jo was out of her element and felt extremely awkward. She didn't know how to deal with crying people. In her world, you got over it, you got revenge. You went out and killed the supernatural son of a bitch that had hurt someone you cared about. Then again she wasn't exactly 'normal'.

So Jo shook her head, raising her hands. "No, no it's alright. It doesn't matter." she surreptitously shoved the watch deeper into the pocket of her jeans. Taking a look around. Everything seemed to be untouched.

"What happened here?" Gabriel. A name. A man. Someone she loved? Jo's brow furrowed in sudden sympathy, features getting softer.

"I'm sorry."

The Latina could not explain what had happened. Only sobbing louder at the thought of this shop gathering dust, staying here in Rivelata until someone took over or knocked it out. Would it even be in her care anymore? Gabriel and Maya were never married. It was too soon for that. They still needed to get settled, plan...she was crying so much, she didn't think there were anymore tears left in her.

"Si, senorita. I-I'm OK," she replied, accent coming in thicker.
