Musashi would have jumped to have heard his voice from so close behind him but, well, he was Musashi, after all. Instead he blinked, turned his head to get a good look at the speaker. What he saw was... fortunately, more or less what he had been expecting. At least what he'd been hoping for.

The man didn't look at all familiar. What he did look though was feminine, and Musashi wasn't entirely sure what to think about that. But after an instant or two he figured to go with a calm sort of apathy about it, and moved on to the next observation. Which was, of course: sword. That, and the somewhat worrisome sight of blood still on his hands, lead Musashi to wonder if Kojiro hadn't actually been entirely serious when talking about killing people. And, of course, Hiruma had mentioned in the journals that Kojiro was fond of the activity ( ... )

Musashi sighed again, allowed a somewhat long-suffering look to meander across his face. The guy still thought he knew him then, despite actually meeting and speaking with him. There had to be some way to show him that Musashi was really just a carpenter-slash-high school student, not a famous swordsman.

"Look," he started patiently, "I'm not pretending. I don't recognize you at all. Sorry." He wondered, for a second, if he ought to tell Kojiro that his name wasn't really Musashi at all, that was just a nickname. But then another thought occurred to him, one having to do with being gutted because he really wasn't as important to Kojiro as Kojiro had first thought, and that appealed even less than the continuing confusion. He hardly wanted to pretend to be a swordsman though, and considering that Kojiro seemed rather dead set on fighting the Musashi that he knew, and this Musashi wasn't too sure that would be very much safer either ( ... )

Hiruma, meanwhile, did not believe Musashi in the least when he had insisted he would be okay.

In his own, weird, special way.

So, the other highschooler was perched on a rooftop nearby, a home made smoke screen bomb in one hand and his binoculars in the other. Next to him was his carbine. In case, you know, he needed to shoot Kojiro. He would only do that if Kojiro attempted to skewer his best friend.

Hiruma's improved hearing let him pick up on most of the conversation. Dear god, that swordsman even SPOKE in italics.

Musashi's eyes grew just slightly wider to find a sword blade at his throat. He'd expected it though, especially after actually meeting him. But that he'd been expecting it still didn't mean he actually had a plan for fending the man off ( ... )
