WHO: Tira and Youji. WHAT: The two most horrible candidates for parents ever discuss the little problem in Tira's womb. ♥ WHERE: The beach. WHEN: Day 128 (forward logged, considering the suspended time).
He too realized the irony of meeting there, in the place where they'd first gone off to kill sea monsters. Perhaps that should have been his first clue, when the girl he was seeing got overly excited by decapitation.
In any case, he tried not to feel sorry for himself, but rather the child that had been the result of carelessness on both their parts. Shoving his hands deep into his pockets, he approched her.
"I'm here." Saying anything else, especially joking around, might cause her to snap at this point.
Tira was quite unpredictable these days, so it was probably a good thing that Youji was choosing his words wisely tonight. Upon hearing his voice, the young woman turned to face him.
"Good evening, Youji." She said in an even voice, a frown set on her painted green lips.
Silence followed, only the sounds of the ocean filling their ears. Then; a small laugh, lacking genuine amusement. "So then, dear," Tira started, "Where oh where do we begin?" Having serious conversations was certainly not something Tira specialized in, or even was used to. She was on unfamiliar ground... and that was never a good thing.
It was sort of amazing that, even though Youji knew full well the gravity of the situation, he still couldn't help mentally appraising her outfit choice. Not as revealing as her other one, but still pleasing to the eye.
This time, however, his eyes kept focusing on her stomach. Obviously, it was impossible to tell at this point, but he knew she had been pregnant almost two months now. He didn't like how this thought made something squeeze around his heart.
"My sentiments exactly." No time to think sex, Kudou. That was how you got into this mess in the first place. "I don't know if apologizing does any good at this point."
Looking off towards the waves as they crashed on the beach, he mulled over what he wanted to say next. "This is probably weird to be asking but... is it actually going okay? You haven't had any complications?
"Not still getting sick, I hope." Concern was usually a good way to go with most girls, but Tira was not most girls.
For a moment, it looked as though Tira was ready to attempt to kill him again. But (thankfully) instead, she just huffed in an aggravated little way and plopped down on the sand right where she had been standing. The water sometimes touched her toes, but the young woman didn't seem concerned.
"I don't feel sick." Tira replied, gloved fingers idly tracing along the inside of her weapon. Aiselne Drossel was like a security blanket to her.
"And stop speaking like you're all concerned about me and this thing." She rolled her eyes. "There's too many things that have to change for us to be p-parents," The killer shuddered at the word alone, "So I have no idea why you feel so inclined to pretend you care. I don't want your damn support, I want to be cured!"
Tira still spoke like pregnancy was a horrible disease. That probably wouldn't change -- and it was also probably a good sign that the woman was not planning on keeping it.
