Purple and green. Lips red as blood and skin pale as death. And a smile like a ghastly gash across his face.
Gotham, for all its faults, for all its sins, was a tough city. Few others would survive Batman's Rogues Gallery. And no others would survive the Joker.
Rivelata would be an easy target for the Clown Prince of Crime.
He had to stop him before he even got started.
With a flick of the wrist, he sent a smoke bomb flying into the street that Joker walked down, letting it go off with a loud enough bang to send any civilians running for cover.
It would, obviously, alert the Joker to his presence, but it would also clear the place of any potential hostages and signal to his allies where they were. Where to avoid.
This was their fight, and their fight alone, after all.

"IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE'S GOT THE HOTS FOR ME ~" He shouted, shrieked into the night despite how late the hour was, how people might have been sleeping. "I'M DANCING ON CLOUDS."

Joker might expect him to strike from behind in the whirling smoke, but Batman hadn't the time for it. He needed to know what Joker was capable of, and, for now, he couldn't afford to dance around his archnemesis and analyze every move. He had to take down the madman and as quickly as possible.
And so, as the imposing figure burst from the obscuring smoke, his arm lashed out with a powerful right cross to the Joker's jaw.
"Let's wipe that smile off your face."

But why, when they could watch the fun? Larxene locked up the Pen and Sword and twisted the keys on her fingers, opening a portal. It was small, but it had taken days of practice to even get it that far. It would serve to get them to the docks, though.
"Shall we go observe, darling?"

"I see someone's been practicing. Better than I can do. And yes, yes we shall," he said.
Zexion was afraid.
He'd noticed that here, in Rivelata, he seemed more real, and with that came things like fear. Like wonder. Not truly complete but more than nothing.
He let himself surrender to it. He let himself surrender to the feeling, more to prevent himself from turning into a bird than anything else... but also for the thrill. For the adrenaline rush. His senses seemed to sharpen, and he didn't want to miss this.
How long had it been since he'd smelled a heart so steeped in Darkness?

Larxene had to admit, she too, felt the excitement of fear. That anxious desire brought about from adrenaline. Had those feelings been there all along, buried and ignored? Or was it new?
So she stepped aside and let Zexion go first, then stepped in after him. The portal disappeared behind them, and the pair reappeared on a rooftop near the docks; a perfect view of the scene.
And the darkness. It wasn't pure, it was.... tainted. With pure insanity.
This man had no goals, no fears, nothing.
"He's beautiful."

He sighed. "But alas, there are none here. And I suppose I had better keep up appearances for our friend Mr. Wayne."
He opened the Lexicon, closing his eyes and beginning to write. The roads around the two shimmered and changed - those who walked down them would think they were walking in a straight line, but due to an optical illusion they'd soon find themselves walking in the opposite direction.
This was tiring, and it showed on Zexion's face as he struggled to keep the illusion intact. Finally, he dropped it. "I... think I shall wait to see if I actually see anyone coming before I bother..."

He perched on a pile of crates, strategically hiding himself from being viewed by either the new madman or the elusive superhero. He saw the smoke bomb go off and the two approaching.
This was either going to get good, or go terribly wrong. And with Peter's constant string of Bad Luck, he was unfortunately considering the latter.

The sadist smiled sweetly. His position was perfect for hiding from Batman and Joker... but not from the cloaked Nobodies above.

It seemed that Batman and his nemesis were too focused on each other, lost in the world of their little battle, to pay attention to the spectators, so he adjusted himself to face the two. He was still crouched down in classic position, and tilted his head to the side.
"Sorry, Captain Primary Colors is sick today," he replied sarcastically. "I'm filling in for him while he recooperates. Can I help you?"

"Your hiding kind of stinks, Spidey-honey. Might as well come up here where you can actually see!"
She had to admit, she was curious about this "Spiderman" who had so... colorfully made his entrance a few weeks ago. Polar opposite from Batman, who kept his true identity and, well, everything, extremely secret.
What was it with the animal motif anyway?

For the most part, her walk through town had been quiet and peaceful. She almost thought it a wonder how bustling streets became so empty and silent after the sun set.
She hummed a merry little tune as she meandered through the cobblestone streets. Soon enough, the cobblestones gave way to sand, and then to wood, and the sound of the restless ocean water broke through the chilled night air. The docks. She loved them.
"Ah~" Giselle took the fresh air in and let it out with a soft sigh as she twirled, arms outstretched. it would have been an understatement to say she wasn't paying attention to the restless activities near her-- she was oblivious.
"So to spend a life of endless bliss," She sang out as she strolled along the docks, smiling gleefully ( ... )
