With a smile on her face, Mamori brushed her short pink hair as she sat in front of the mirror in her room.

Back in Japan, she often went on outings with her friends. It was often in the mall or in boutiques and sometimes they treat each other to burgers.

But talking with someone over tea is different, she thought. Especially with someone she wasn't too familiar with yet like Claire-san.

"But," she thought, "it's not a bad thing..."

Making sure that her dress was neat and clean, as well as telling Sena where she was off to, she went out of the house and walked towards Moonflower Teas.

A few minutes later, she arrived at the teashop and went inside, scanning the place. Spotting the blonde cheerleader, she waved.

"Claire-san!"

It was different, yes. Claire used to go out with friends all the time, cheerleader type group outings--

Then things changed. Zach entered her life and suddenly she was the outcast. Everything was different. She hadn't really been out with, let alone around another girl type friend since Jackie had died.

Strange.

Even here in Rivelata, she hadn't exactly been friendly with a lot of the girls. Most of them she didn't know. The others...

Beth, for example. Sure, there could have been potential for friendship. But then she had to go and be all up in Hiruma's business and called her a bitch. Not the best start to get off to with someone. Really.

"Hey!" Claire replied, grin on her face, waving her over. "Come sit. Uh, order whatever, I guess. How have you been? How are Sena and Riku doing?"

Mamori took a careful sip of the green tea that she ordered. Setting it down, she smiled at the blonde girl before her.

"Sena and I are just fine, Claire-san. Rik-kun's still sick in bed though."

A short pause ensued before she asked, "What about you?" But in actuality, she wanted to ask how things are between Hiruma and her but she thought it sounded a little rude to suddenly inquire about that out of the blue.

That had to be one of the most bizarre things for her, still. Those added formalities, honorifics, as Hiruma had called them ( ... )
